  • Patent number: 7441960
Abstract: A bearing arrangement for a medical device in which a rotating component is supported relative to a stationary housing includes a bearing with an inner ring and an outer ring. The inner ring is connected to the component which is to be supported and the outer ring is connected to the housing by way of at least one damping element. To increase quiet running of the rotating component, both the inner ring and also the outer ring are made as integral elements and have an essentially hollow cylindrical base contour, with an extension of the outer ring in the radial direction being at least twice the extension of the inner ring in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 7103974
Abstract: A process for mounting an outer bearing ring involves press fitting a stamp into the outer ring so that the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring assumes the shape of the stamp. Using the stamp, the outer ring is then press fitted into the recess of a machine part so that the contour of the external peripheral surface of the outer ring is plastically molded through axial stretching into the machine part. To mount an inner ring, a stamp with a bore is press fitted onto the inner ring so that the inner peripheral surface of the inner ring pressing against the stamp assumes the shape of the bore of the stamp. Using the stamp, the inner ring is then press fitted onto the machine part and the contour of the inner peripheral surface of the inner ring is plastically molded through axial flow forming into the machine part.

  • Publication number: 20050050973
Abstract: A device for converting rotary motion into translational motion comprises a first component and a second component, with the second component being arranged to be able to turn around an axis of rotation relative to the first component and to move in the axial direction. Each component is provided with at least one track in which are arranged roll bodies. To produce a relatively high axial force with relatively small dimensions of the device, the tracks are arranged at opposing faces of the two components, with the tracks extending in a circle around the axis of rotation and in a spiral manner with a given pitch over the periphery of the components.

  • Patent number: 6579012
Abstract: A bearing ring includes a first ring part having a first peripheral surface forming a rolling body retaining track or a sliding surface and a second peripheral surface, and a concentrically arranged second ring part having first and second peripheral surfaces. The first and second ring parts are pressed together to plastically mold the second peripheral surface of the first ring part into the first peripheral surface of the second ring part through axial expansion. During manufacture, one tool grasps the first peripheral surface of the first ring part and presses it into a pre-determinable shape and another tool supports the second peripheral surface of the second ring part. The first ring part is pressed against the second ring part, with the contour of the second peripheral surface of the first ring part being plastically molded into the first peripheral surface of the second ring part through axial flow forming.

  • Patent number: 6408519
Abstract: A method for securing at least one bearing in a bearing plate provided with an indentation or recessed region for receiving a bearing involves partially swaging at least one positioning face on the bearing plate for accurately or precisely positioning a retaining baffle, positioning the retaining baffle against the at least one swaged positioning face, and materially bonding the retaining baffle to the bearing plate so that the retaining baffle exerts an axial force on a part of the bearing during operation of the bearing. A bearing arrangement includes a bearing plate provided with at least one indentation and at least one partially swaged positioning face, a bearing disposed in the at least one indentation, and a retaining baffle pressed against the positioning face of the bearing plate. • Patent number: 6270001
Abstract: A method is disclosed of manufacturing a pulley with integral bearing comprising a sheet metal pulley mounted on the outer race of a bearing. The pulley is a close sliding fit on the outer race. The interstice between the pulley and the race is at least partly filled with a low-melting-point filler metal which, when heated, melts and diffuses by capillary action into the interstice between the pulley and the race, at least partly filling the interstice and fastens the pulley to the race when it solidifies. The filler metal is advantageously a brazing alloy having a melting point much lower than that of the parts to be joined together. Applications of the method include the manufacture of belt tensioning pulleys with integral bearings, as used on automobile vehicle engines, for example.

  • Patent number: 6142675
Abstract: A roller includes a rolling bearing having inner and outer rings, a roller shell formed of injection molding material and molded in a form-fitting manner onto the outer ring of the roller bearing, and a spindle disposed in the bore of the inner ring with a space being provided between the surface of the bore and the spindle. The spindle includes at least one form-fitting element. An injection molding material forms a filler in the space between the spindle and the bore surface, whereby the outside contour of the spindle is constructed as am outer shaping surface for the form tool. A method of producing a roller involves placing a rolling bearing having inner and outer rings into a form tool, placing a spindle in the form tool so that the spindle extends into the bore in the inner ring and is held in place in the form tool, closing the form tool, and injecting molding material into the form tool.

  • Patent number: 5984562
Abstract: An arrangement for fixing a tubular element, such as a shaft, that is provided with a bore and a flange in position with respect to plate element involves the use of a ball that pressed into the bore in the tubular element. To achieve a simple fixation that is secure in both axial directions, the plate element is fixed on one side by the flange of the tubular element and on the other side by the bulge that is created through insertion of the ball into the bore in the tubular element. The ball has a greater diameter than that of the bore in the tubular element so that insertion of the ball into the bore causes the tubular element to become enlarged, thus forming the bulge.
