  • Patent number: 3973659
Abstract: A friction clutch assembly with a clutch release bearing for use with automotive vehicles. The friction clutch is provided with a disc-shaped spring release member having a central bore. The clutch release bearing is formed as a conventional anti-friction bearing having an outer race ring extending through the central bore of the release spring. One end of the outer race ring is formed with an annular flange extending substantially radially outward to contact the exterior frontal face of the spring release member. An angularly-shaped retaining ring is fixed to the portion of the outer race ring extending through the bore and is formed with an axially extending shank wall terminating in a peripheral edge which presses against the opposite interior frontal face of the spring release member.

  • Patent number: 3967710
Abstract: A clutch shifter engagement structure including a sliding sleeve and an antifriction bearing. The sliding sleeve includes a radially extending portion and the bearing a flange. A buckle engages both the radially extending portion and the bearing flange, the buckle further including extending arms adapted for engagement, as by a disengaging fork.

  • Patent number: 3963105
Abstract: A friction clutch integrated with a clutch release bearing for use with automotive vehicles. The friction clutch is provided with a disc shape spring release member in which a plurality of radial slots are formed creating a corresponding number of radially extending spring-like arms. The clutch release bearing is formed as an anti-friction bearing wherein one of its race members has an annular shoulder extending substantially axially away from the rolling bodies located therebetween. The shoulder is provided with several tabs, or tangs, uniformly distributed about its free end and which extend through the slots between adjacent pairs of the spring release arms.

  • Patent number: 3963106
Abstract: A clutch disengager including a sliding sleeve having a radially extending flange formed by a wall doubling over the end of the sleeve to form a cuff, ending in the flange, and an antifriction bearing adapted for movement on the sleeve and including a nonrotating inner race having an inwardly extending flange resting against the sleeve flange, to form a self-supporting unit.

  • Patent number: 3948370
Abstract: A friction clutch and bearing assembly. The friction clutch is provided with a spring release member having a central bore, the inner peripheral edge of which is rolled into an annular torus opening radially outwardly toward the bearing. The bearing is provided with a race member formed of sheet metal having a radially extending flange wall adapted to engage against the frontal face of the spring release member and an inner beaded edge adapted to lie within the torus and to be resiliently grasped thereby.

  • Patent number: 3944011
Abstract: The driven wheel hub of a motor vehicle is driven by a rotating axle through a homokinetic joint having an inner driving member secured to the axle and an outer driven member. An axial-radial bearing having an outer race ring secured to the vehicle chassis and an inner race ring secured to the wheel or wheel hub is located in association with the homokinetic joint. The inner race ring is provided with a bore the surface of which and the outer surface of the driven member of the homokinetic joint are provided with mating keyways cooperating to secure the respective race ring and the driven member for conjoint rotary movement and relative axial movement therebetween.
