  • Patent number: 5543213
Abstract: An upholstery layer for a motor vehicle seat is provided in a preferred embodiment with a resilient bottom layer, for example of foam and/or rubberized hair, and on top of this a buffer layer covered by a seat cover fabric. The buffer layer consists of at least two further layers connected to each other in an almost nondisplaceable manner. One of these top layers is made from a particularly elastic material, and a layer situated beneath this or an intermediate layer is made from a less elastic steam-permeable material which supports the upper layer.

  • Patent number: 4822102
Abstract: A foldable headrest (2, 3) for, preferably, the rear seat of a passenger car, of the type mounted for pivoting movement on the backrest (1), is in the form of a multi-piece assembly and includes at least one height-adjustable support element (12, 13) between upper and lower headrest members (8, 9, 10, 11). The headrest (2, 3) is designed to permit a wide range of adjustments, including adjustment of its angular position through pivoting movement, as well as height adjustment of headrest members, and is therefore suitable to accommodate, in a relatively simple manner, a great variety of seat occupants.

  • Patent number: 4711494
Abstract: The headrest for a rear seat is fastened to two rods which are adapted for sliding movement in guide sleeves mounted in the backrest of a motor vehicle. The rods are comprised of an upper rod portion and a lower rod portion which are interconnected by a pivot joint. Upon actuation of a push button, the rods are urged by a lift mechanism out of the guide sleeve into a position where the pivot joints are unlocked and wherein the headrest together with the upper rod portion is folded down into a storage position so as to afford the drive of the vehicle an unobstructed view to the rear.
