Abstract: In a rivet setting tool for setting blind rivets, a passage extends from the mouthpiece of the tool rearwardly through the head of the tool, for removing rivet pins which have been torn off after the rivets have been set. An axially operative setting device which can be actuated for the rivet-upsetting operation includes a piston cylinder system comprising a pneumatically operated piston and a hydraulic piston, and a compressed air feed means for actuation of the setting device and for removal of the torn-off rivet pins. The tool is operated by an actuating member which can be moved into first and second operating positions, in the first of which the actuating member opens a valve associated with the passage, for introducing compressed air into the passage for sucking in a rivet to be set, while in the second operating position the actuating member opens a valve associated with the pneumatic piston for actuating the setting device for the rivet setting operation.

Abstract: In a blind riveting apparatus for rivets of different sizes, with a compressed air feed line and an actuating means controllable by the compressed air, and a rotary motor, provided at the inlet (6) of the compressed air feed means (9) into the blind riveting apparatus (1) is a means (10) for setting the level of the pressure of the compressed air which flows into the apparatus (1).

Abstract: A blind rivet setting tool for setting threaded rivet nuts comprises a threaded pin for engaging the rivet, and a rotating mechanism to screw the nut on to the threaded pin before a rivet upsetting operation, and to unscrew the pin from the nut after the upsetting operation. The upsetting operation is performed by imparting an axial movement to the pin. The rotating means is actuated to screw the pin into the nut by applying an axial pressure to the tool and the pin while, when the axial load on the tool is relieved, the rotating mechanism automatically rotates the pin in the opposite direction, for disengagement of the pin from the rivet.

Abstract: In a blind riveting device having a compressed air feed, the compressed air feed serves not only for the actuating means of the blind riveting device, but also for a compressed air conveying means which transports the rivet pins which are pulled off in the riveting operation, into a container which is disposed at a position remote from the blind riveting device.
