  • Patent number: 5927348
Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing puncture sealing compositions from a tire, characterized by allowing air pressure to flow out of the tire via the valve, removing the tire valve, introducing a hose into the tire through the valve bore until the introduced hose end dips deeply into the sealing preparation contained in the tire and generating a pressure differential so that the sealing preparation is removed through the hose.

  • Patent number: 5909752
Abstract: The invention relates to a container for the sealing of tires with punctures, with which it is possible to first mix a liquid sealant and a filler when sealing is to take place, but to keep them separate during the prior storage. The container has a first chamber for filler and a second chamber for the liquid sealant. The chambers are fixedly or movably connected together and at least one of the chambers can be compressed. Between the chambers there is a partition wall, which consists at least in part of a rupturable member which is torn so that the liquid sealant and the filler mix before injection of the mixture into the tire via an outlet valve by compression of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 5879483
Abstract: A pneumatic vehicle tire comprises a carcass, a tread strip, and a breaker arrangement arranged between the carcass and the tread strip. The breaker arrangment includes at least two breaker plies which have threads or cords which serve as load-carrying members and extend at an angle to the mid-circumferential plane of the tire. A breaker cover surrounds the breaker arrangement at least in the region of the breaker arrangement's axial side edges. The breaker cover has at least one cover ply consisting of threads or cords which extend at least substantially in the circumferential direction of the tire. The breaker cover is formed of a helically wound strip bandage. At least one respective ply separating cushion layer is present in each of the two axial side regions of the breaker arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5795417
Abstract: A pneumatic vehicle tire comprises a single ply or multi-ply radial carcass anchored to beads, a tread, and a breaker arrangement provided between the carcass and the tread. The breaker arrangement is preferably built up of at least two cut breaker plies with the threads or cords of the cut breaker plies, which serve as strength carriers and extend parallel to one another in the respective ply, crossing at a predetermined angle to the central mid-circumferential plane. The tire also comprises at least one cover ply of cords or threads extending substantially in the circumferential direction of the tire, at least one cover ply surrounding the breaker arrangement at least in the breaker arrangement's edge regions. In the preferred embodiment the breaker arrangement (4) has threads or cords (9) of non-metallic material and a material with a low thermal shrinkage or no thermal shrinkage is used as the material for the treads or cords (8) of the at least one cover ply (5).

  • Patent number: 5700336
Abstract: A bead core for a pneumatic tire is built up from a ring element and a load carrying element wound into the ring element, wherein the load carrying winding is subdivided by a support wall of the ring element into two regions. The boundary walls at the edge regions of the ring element preferably have a radial extent less than that of the support wall.

  • Patent number: 5665298
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of pneumatic vehicle tires with a carcass extending between two bead rings and a breaker disposed between carcass and tread is described in which a tire blank is built up making exclusive use of non-metallic components and at least a part of the thermal energy required in the course of the vulcanization and shaping, which take place under the action of heat and pressure, is introduced into the tire in the form of microwave energy.

  • Patent number: 4909074
Abstract: A method for detecting, evaluating, and indicating a tire air pressure value. Information signals are compared with a plurality of desired value curves having a tolerance range and an average value for the atmospheric temperature, whereupon these signals are evaluated. The pressure deviation, as a function of the desired value tolerance ranges, is assigned a specific pressure state, from which an acutal air pressure state is indicated that takes into account regional and seasonal pressure and temperature influences. Furthermore, a maximum speed and a permissible speed can be determined during emergency operation, or a state of emergency operation can be determined.

  • Patent number: 4815512
Abstract: A tread surface profile including a three-part configuration. A circumferentially extending, centrally disposed, linear or zigzagged rib has connected on both sides thereof a plurality of central blocks that are separated from the rib by shallow and narrow venting grooves. On both sides of the rib, pluralities of profiled blocks that extend from a tire shoulder toward the rib, with the profiled blocks being separated from the central blocks of the latter by longitudinal, circumferentially extending channels, and being separated from one another by lateral channels. The profiled blocks and the central blocks are arranged in S-shaped configurations that extend over the width of the tread surface in a diagonal fashion. The shoulder end of each profiled block is oriented axially at an angle of from 90.degree. to 80.degree. relative to the central tire plane, and each rib end of the central blocks is oriented circumferentially at an angle of from 35.degree. to 55.degree. relative to the central tire plane.

  • Patent number: 4724881
Abstract: A cap ply for the belt reinforcing member of a pneumatic vehicle tire. The heat shrinking reinforcing elements of the cap ply are oriented in the circumferential direction of the tire, and consists of monofilament threads or monofilament cords, and have a filament fineness of at least 250 decitex. These monofilaments fulfill a wrapping function, and at the same time are airtight. The monofilaments also prevent corrosion of the steel plies of the belt.
