  • Patent number: 9255639
Abstract: In vehicles designed to pick up and process crops, drive units affect the ground drive, which is an all-wheel drive, which acts on all of the wheels and/or track roller unit in contact with the ground, electronic controls and actuators perform the control and regulation of the drive units, and control units that control the drive torque at the wheels are used to obtain good traction and minimal slippage of the wheels on the ground. To control the drive torques, sensors are used at particular points, the signals and data of which are processed by the control device in order to predetermine a torque or intake volume requirement. The preselection of torque in the control results in the intake volume of the hydraulic drive motor being regulated. By specifying the intake volume required, it is possible to obtain optimal traction at one or more drive wheels, and to prevent undesired slippage of any one drive wheel in advance.

  • Publication number: 20110001299
Abstract: A vehicle, has a chassis, at least one front axle assigned to the chassis and carrying land wheels, a rear axle located downstream of the front axle, relative to a direction of forward travel and carrying at least two steerable wheels, wherein the rear axle is hingedly connected to the chassis such that it is movable to and fro transversely to the direction of travel, and includes at least one axle body, wherein regions of the chassis are assigned to the wheels of the rear axle in an at partially adjacent manner, a pendulum device coupling the rear axle of the chassis and enabling a displacement of the rear axle that is oriented transversely to the direction of travel, and a swivel device coupling each wheel of the rear axle to the axle body of the rear axle and enabling a displacement of each wheel that is oriented transversely to the direction of travel.

  • Patent number: 6269708
Abstract: A multi-stage gearbox has at least one shifter rod which may be engaged and locked in a predetermined position by at least one locking element. The locking element is coupled to a setting element such that the setting element can be set in at least two different positions relative to the locking element by a control device. A method of controlling such a gearbox includes the step of moving the setting element from a retention position into a shift position by actuating a push-button.

  • Patent number: 6073742
Abstract: A self-centering dog clutch includes two coupling-parts is arranged in a simple manner such that components serving for centering purposes are not necessary. Contact faces of the two coupling-parts are off-set relative to the rotational axis of the dog clutch. This results in a radial component of force which serves to center the two coupling-parts. The recesses in the first, driven coupling-part have a larger surface area than the drive claws engaging therein of the second, driving coupling-part. The two coupling-parts can thereby rotate against each other through a predetermined angle. This dog clutch is particularly suitable for use with agricultural machines.

  • Patent number: 5566773
Abstract: The tracked undercarriage for harvesters has a wheel-track drive unit (3) disposed on both sides of the machine, and each drive unit (3) has two rockers (5, 6), height-adjustably seated on a common, horizontal axle (4) extending transversely in respect to the direction of travel, two dual wheels (7, 8), rotatably seated on the free ends of the two rockers (5, 6) and an endlessly revolving track (9) guided around both dual wheels (7, 8), one tensioning element (28) for the track (9) acting on at least one dual wheel bearing (20) and a drive for at least one dual wheel (8). A separating line (TL) is drawn outside of the axle (4) in one rocker (6), wherein a releasable connection (16, 17, 18) with the other rocker (5) extended past the axle (4) is located in this separation line (TL), and this removable rocker (6) is embodied as a transmission housing (11) with a cardan shaft inlet (12) and toothed-wheel gear (13, 14, 15) for driving the dual wheel (8) seated on the removable rocker (6).
