Abstract: The invention pertains to a vehicle seat with a floor track assembly which makes it possible to change the number and/or the seating arrangement in a passenger compartment by displacing the seats on the floor tracks. It is proposed that a situation be achieved via a combination of a defined track profile and an arrestment mechanism whereby the displacement of the seats on the tracks can be smoothly carried out with large tolerances in a manner which is insensitive to dirt and whereby complete freedom from play and rattling of the seat assembly is nevertheless ensured in the arrested state.

Abstract: An automobile seat includes seat frame and backrest frame portions, each of which includes a pair of opposite side braces of generally U-shaped configuration which face away from the seating surfaces of their respective side frame and back rest frame portions. The side braces of the side frame and back frame portions define open channel-like areas for accommodating adjusting units of the seat.

Abstract: An actuating device for controlling the operation of a vehicle seat includes a central block movable about a central block shaft in four different directions to execute four distinct adjustment functions. A handle housing is mounted on a shaft perpendicular to the central block shaft. The handle housing is rotatable in fifth and sixth directions to execute distinct fifth and sixth adjustment functions.

Abstract: An air-sprung vehicle seat includes an air spring and a scissors linkage which are operative for adjusting the vertical height of the seat. The vehicle seat also includes a locking device for adjustably fixing the vertical height of the seat, the locking device including a fixing element which is articulated to the scissors linkage and a fixing device which is engageable with the fixing element for fixing the relative position thereof in the seat. The seat also includes a non-return valve which is responsive to actuation of the fixing device for controlling the admission of compressed air into and the escape of compressed air from the air spring.
