  • Publication number: 20090166346
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a bond of a first component (2) and of a second component (3) by means of a connecting mass (4), in particular with regard to large-area aircraft components of cylindrical or spherical contour, with the following method steps: (S1) connection of the components (2, 3) by means of the connecting mass (4); (S2) application of a heating element (6) to the first component (2); and (S3) curing of the connecting mass (4) by heating by means of the heating element (6) to produce the bond of the components (2, 3), wherein, during the curing of the connecting mass (4), a force is applied to the heating element (6) and the components (2, 3) by means of a first covering element (8) in the form of a vacuum film by the evacuation of a first cavity (12) in which the components (2, 3) and the heating element (6) applied to them are arranged, and to a corresponding device (1).

  • Patent number: 6604398
Abstract: The installation includes an in-line arrangement of a metal pickler, a reeling arrangement installed on the coiling side of the metal pickler, and a cold-rolling mill. The method includes ones of the following alternative sequences of work steps: (a) the strip leaving the metal pickler bypasses the reeling arrangement and is introduced into the cold-rolling mill for a first reduction pass and rolled out over the course of several deformation passes; or (b) the strip leaving the metal pickler is wound on the reeling arrangement into a coil; after the coil is switched to the uncoiling position, the strip is fed into the cold-rolling mill and rolled out over the course of several deformation passes; or (c) the strip leaving the metal pickler is wound as hot-rolled strip on the reeling arrangement to obtain the finished strip; or (d) pre-pickled, hot-rolled strips are sent to the reeling arrangement and then uncoiled from the uncoiler into the cold-rolling mill and rolled in several deformation passes.

  • Patent number: 5964115
Abstract: A process for applying a defined surface roughness to a metal strip, especially steel strip, for preventing the sticking of strip during subsequent annealing in a bell-type annealing installation includes cold rolling the metal strip in at least one reversing roll stand. The cold rolled metal strip is then guided to a temper rolling stand for wet rolling the cold rolled metal strip through at least one pass for applying the defined surface roughness to the metal strip. For this purpose, the flattening rolls of the temper rolling stand are replaced with rough rolls.

  • Patent number: 5666203
Abstract: A measurement system for determining a gap of a roll pair by scanning the position of the roll body ends on the side facing away from the roll gap. The system includes a lever bar arranged on a carrying structure and carrying a height-adjustable optical scanning device. A position element is arranged to rest on the roll barrel and is located in the optical beam path between a transmitter and a receiver of the scanning device and changes in the position of the position element can be detected by the scanning device. The transmitter, designed on the basis of a laser, and the receiver, designed as a photo receiver, are located in a common housing, into the interior of which gas can be introduced at an overpressure. The position element is attached in a vertically movable fashion via an articulated lever on the housing and consists of a glide plate resting on the roll barrel and a position measurement plate.

  • Patent number: 5373965
Abstract: A collapsible container for extrudable viscous fluids comprising a tube, two opposing side walls of the tube being deformable under applied compressive pressure, the tube closed at one end and open at the other, the open end having a nozzle and openable cap means.

  • Patent number: 4312209
Abstract: A method for the operation of rolling mills, which rolls are guided by means of chocks with clearance in the window openings of the uprights. Prior to the appearance of rolling force the chocks (3) are thrust laterally and against their guide surfaces in the uprights the direction of the rolling force component which is oriented in the rolling direction. The rolling operation is then initiated after which the lateral force is removed.
