  • Publication number: 20120078745
Abstract: In some embodiments, a non-transitory processor readable-medium stores code representing instructions to cause a processor to receive, before a time period, a first signal indicating that a first user has purchased a set of primary bids. Each primary bid from the set of primary bids has a price. The code further represents instructions to cause the processor to receive, within the time period, a set of second signals. Each signal from the set of second signals indicates that the first user has used a primary bid from the set of primary bids to bid on an item in a primary auction. The code represents instructions to cause the processor to award, after the time period, the first user at least one secondary bid based on a second user being awarded the item in the primary auction.

  • Patent number: 7904347
Abstract: A method includes receiving, prior to a first time, a first signal indicating that a first user is initiating an auction for an item. A second signal indicating that a second user has purchased a first set of bids costing a first amount and a third signal indicating that a third user has purchased a second set of bids costing a second amount are received prior to the first time. Multiple signals indicating that the second user has used the first set of bids and that the third user has used the second set of bids in the auction for the item are received after the first time but before a second time. The item is awarded to the second user at the second time. The first user is provided with a portion of the first amount and a portion of the second amount after the second time.

  • Publication number: 20080010077
Abstract: A method for the automatic determination of an end value that has a lower calculability than that of the prior art, in order to minimize operating errors and to maximize emotional participation. The method has the steps: start with a start value and wait for an input signal; on receipt of a first input signal a instantaneous value is determined by increasing the start value and a timer is started; on receipt of each further input signal the instantaneous value is again increased and the time is reset; in the absence of an input signal within a time period prescribed by the timer the instantaneous value is outputted as an end value.

  • Publication number: 20060274364
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for automatic determination of an end value which has a lower calculability than those of the state of the art in order to minimize faulty operation. The inventive process consists of the steps of starting with an initial value and waiting for an input signal, determining an instantaneous value by increasing the initial value on receiving a first input signal and starting a timer, increasing the instantaneous value again on receipt of any additional input signal and resetting the timer, and outputting the instantaneous value as an end value when an input signal fails to arrive within the period of time defined by the timer.
