    Abstract: A friction lining, in particular for brakes and clutches, consisting of a friction material mixture of fibrous substances, organic binding agents, organic and/or inorganic fillers, lubricants, and metals or metal compounds, is characterized in that the friction material mixture contains an aluminum-zinc alloy with a zinc amount in the alloy of more than about 1 percent by weight, preferably more than about 2 percent by weight.
