Abstract: This invention is directed to a process for the antimicrobial treatment of textiles during washing and softening cycles using liquid textile washing agents based upon nonionic tensides and containing fabric-softening quaternary nitrogen compounds, wherein one or more antimicrobially active azole compounds are added to the textile washing agent or to the bath.
