  • Publication number: 20190090683
Abstract: A device for preparing a filtered coffee beverage is composed of a filter pot and a coffee container. In the starting position, the suitably dimensioned filter pot is situated inside the coffee container and supported on the bottom wall of the latter. In this position, boiling water is poured into the filter pot, and then ground roasted coffee is added, which is mixed with the water by stirring or by means of shaking the device. Thereafter, the filter pot is moved to an upper filtering position, in which the coffee beverage passes through a filter screen at the bottom of the filter pot into the coffee container.

  • Patent number: 6457930
Abstract: A device (10) for slitting sacks through the use of rotating blades or disks (12) comprises a housing (14) which accommodates at least one mechanically drivable shaft (16) on which blades or disks are mounted. The housing (14) has an inlet opening (18), through which the filled sacks are fed mechanically or under the action of gravity, and an outlet opening (20), through which the slit sacks and the material released from the sacks can be carried away under the action of gravity. Furthermore, a movable restraining apparatus (24) is driven by a drive assembly from a first position in which the restraining apparatus is in a covered state and prevents sacks from reaching the at least one cutting member to a second position in which the restaining apparatus is in a released state and allows sacks to reach the at least one cutting member.

  • Patent number: 5135766
Abstract: A process for the decaffeination of raw coffee. The process involves increasing the moisture content of the raw coffee and selectively extracting caffeine from the raw coffee by using hydrous liquefied carbon dioxide as an extractant at a pressure below the critical pressure of carbon dioxide. The process differs from conventional processes which use liquefied carbon dioxide at pressures above the critical pressure but it is suprisingly found that the process of the invention does not result in the coextraction of aroma components of the coffee. The use of lower pressures means that the process of the invention is more economical than conventional processes.
