  • Patent number: 5219626
Abstract: A molding strip, particularly for vehicles, with continuous ends formed thereon. The molding strip is a plastic injection molded part and has an integrated reinforcement which consists of at least one metal strip. The metal strip has a plurality of cut out tongues in rows along one or both lateral edges, and which extend, in whole or in separate regions of the individual tongues, out of the plane of the metal strip. The metal strip can have shaped tongues and unshaped tongues. In a row of tongues which are arranged one behind the other, unshaped tongues alternate with tongues which extend out of the plane of the metal strip at the row of tongues.

  • Patent number: 4634565
Abstract: An injection mold for producing a plastic injection molding having a layer of plastic molding material on the front of a metallic support. The injection mold has a first mold half over the front of the support with a mold cavity therein for holding the injected plastic material which forms the layer on the front of the support. The injection mold has a second mold half at the rear of the support with another recess for being filled with pressure fluid for pressing the front of the support against the first mold half, which seals the cavity for the injected plastic molding material to prevent leakage and to keep the line of the plastic material layer around the mold cavity on the support sharp. The pressure fluid may be supplied to the rear of the support before the molding composition is injected into the cavity at the front of the support. The pressure fluid at the rear of the support may be the same material that is applied on the front of the support.

  • Patent number: 4458459
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a sectional molding of an elastic material, used for spanning the gap between a pane of glass and the adjacent panel in a window opening of a motor vehicle, or the like. The sectional molding has a generally "I" shaped cross-section, including an ascending web in the gap, a transverse web spanning the space between the pane and the panel and mounting flanges away from the transverse web and extending out from the sides of the ascending web. The mounting flanges are more pliable than the webs and are folded back toward the transverse web upon installation of the sectional molding in the gap. Stiffeners are provided in the ascending and transverse web. Projections on the leading surfaces of the mounting flanges help to secure the same in the gap. A bead at the inserted end of the ascending web anchors the same in sealant in the gap.
