  • Publication number: 20020157500
Abstract: A pipe or a solid rod (1) is coated on the outer surface, or cams (3) and/or other parts are coated on their inner surface with a suitable coating (2), for example a joint-stable conversion coating, in order to produce a cost-advantageous mass product with commercially available materials and semifinished materials by a longitudinal pressing on of cams and other parts onto the pipe or solid rod.

  • Patent number: 5956988
Abstract: The present invention is a novel device and method of shaping an end of a pipe. One end of a pipe is inserted into a shaped die in such a way that the outer surface of the pipe rests against the interior portion of the die. A piston is then inserted into the pipe in such a way that the outer surface of the piston rests against the interior surface of the pipe. The piston is then forcibly driven into the die against the pipe as to forcibly shape the pipe to a predetermined configuration. The present invention also discloses numerous embodiments to shape a pipe.

  • Patent number: 5260522
Abstract: A double-wall hollow body comprises an inner hollow body and a cooperating outer hollow body. The outer hollow body is frictionally attached to the inner hollow body, and is radially spaced from the inner body so that an annular space is formed between the two bodies. Acoustic-damping insulating material is contained within the annular space, and forms an interlayer between the inner and outer bodies. An end of the double-wall hollow body is formed by respective ends of the inner and outer hollow bodies that rest directly against each other without insulating material. The inner hollow body is separated over an entire circumference from the outer hollow body by the insulating interlayer. Various methods of manufacturing the foregoing double-wall hollow body are also described. For instance, to apply the insulating material to the inner hollow body, such body may be heated and then rolled into the insulating material.

  • Patent number: 5221121
Abstract: A reinforcement element, for the body of an automobile, consists of an elongated tensile elastic part comprising a cable, which is arranged in a hollow section attached to the body of the automobile. The cable extends through the hollow section and is attached by its ends independently of the hollow section to an attachment point on a part of the body. An impact against the body part causes the hollow section to contact and rest against the cable, such that the cable impedes further displacement of the hollow section with respect to the body. The cable may be a compound cable, each element having different routing, lengths, thicknesses, and/or construction. The mounting includes a tensioning element to prestress the cable, and may include a passive or active damping element.

  • Patent number: 4583773
Abstract: The invention refers to a releasable tubular clamp for connecting cylindrical or profile tubes. In order to provide a releasable tubular clamp for interconnecting cylindrical or profile tubes wherein the press force is increased and after assembly a greater degree of compactness and stiffness is present, a longitudinally running longitudinal rib (1) open towards the interior is provided which prior to clamping exhibits a U-shaped (ear-shaped) cross section and whose legs after clamping abut in parts whereby the clamping jacket in an adjoining area exhibits a cross section deviating from a circular contour.

  • Patent number: 4313328
Abstract: A hollow, tubular blank is provided with annular, radially inwardly and/or outwardly extending protrusions by means of rolling or upsetting. These protrusions are provided with gearing teeth by means of an annular drawing die and a plug, one of these or both being provided with a gearing-forming profile.
