    Abstract: A position selected locking apparatus for an automatic gear box which includes a yoke connected to the position selector and an electromagnetic lock for preventing motion of said yoke. An armature of the electromagnetic lock is biased into abutment with the yoke such that the yoke cannot move and thus the position selector is locked until the electromagnetic lock is energized to free the yoke.
