  • Publication number: 20030012018
Abstract: The invention relates to a lighting element (1), comprising at least one light source (4) and at least one base element (2) which is at least partially provided with a translucent material. The lighting element (1) can be freely put up and the at least one light source (4) is disposed within the base element (2). The lateral surfaces of the lighting element (1) are preferably completely provided with said translucent material, for example a PVC film, so that the light sources (4) within the lighting elements (1) are not visible from the exterior. The individual lighting elements (1) can be easily interconnected via suitable plug-in connectors (5, 8) so that the lighting elements can be simultaneously used as pieces of furniture, for example as room dividers.

  • Patent number: 4348909
Abstract: A sampling probe for sampling partial quantities of liquid in a counter-current extraction column wherein the liquid has first and second immiscible phases moving in mutually opposite directions. The probe comprises an extraction tube having first and second radially opposing ports in its surface, the extraction tube being adapted for extending into the liquid within the column and positioned so that the first and second phases impinge upon the respective opposite portions of the extraction tube surface containing the radially opposing ports. A stopper formed of a material which promotes coalescence with respect to the first phase is fitted into one end of the extraction tube. The stopper has a cavity therein, and a plurality of apertures are located in the side of the stopper aligned with the portion of the extraction tube against which the first phase impinges.

  • Patent number: 4212723
Abstract: A counterflow extraction column for the liquid-liquid extraction of two phases during simultaneous electrolysis, includes an elongated, upright column tube containing a cathode and an anode. Within the tube, a common chamber defines cathodic zones and anodic zones and is void of separating members between the zones. The common chamber constitutes the anode chamber and the cathode chamber of the column.
