  • Patent number: 10461555
Abstract: A wired connection, such as USB-C, for charging a sink from a source, has a configuration channel and a power transmission channel. The presence of data on the configuration channel is used to determine that a cable has been disconnected from the power source. This charging system contains a capacitive power converter and a controller for controlling the capacitive power converter. There is also a configuration channel detector, which is arranged to detect the status of the configuration channel and to provide this status to the controller, so that the system can determine that the source has been detached from the bus when no configuration channel data is present.

Date of Patent: October 29, 2019
    Assignee: Dialog Semiconductor (UK) Limited

  • Patent number: 9997946
Abstract: A charging system for a battery of an electronic device is described. The charging system comprises an adapter configured to derive a transfer current at a transfer voltage from a power source. Furthermore, the charging system comprises a battery charger configured to charge a battery of the electronic device with a battery current at a battery voltage using the transfer current at the transfer voltage. In addition, the charging system comprises power transmission means configured to transmit the transfer current at the transfer voltage to the battery charger. In addition, the charging system comprises communication means configured to transmit feedback information which is indicative of the battery voltage and/or battery current from the battery charger to the adapter. The adapter is configured to set the transfer voltage and/or transfer current in dependence of the feedback information.

  • Patent number: 7639744
Abstract: A codec circuit having a programmable digital bandpass filter is disclosed. According to one aspect, a bandpass filter matches the filter characteristics of the codec circuit to a transmitted pulse code modulation (PCM) signal. The codec circuit includes at least one programmable digital high-pass filter connected in series to at least one programmable digital low-pass filter. The setting filter characteristics for the programmable digital high-pass and low pass filters are each set by means of a signal identification device for identifying a PCM signal transmitted through the codec circuit. The filters are set as a function of the transmitted PCM signal in order to vary a bandpass filter characteristic for the programmable digital bandpass filter.
