  • Publication number: 20050112915
Abstract: An electrical plug (1), a rigid holder, a system consisting of an electrical plug and a holder, and a method of making a connection between an electrical plug and a holder, are proposed, said electrical plug comprising a housing (2) and a spring clamp connection for connection of a flexible electric conductor (10) to the end piece of a rigid holder (20). The spring clamp connection is made out of a clamp spring (3) made of flat spring material, comprising a contact leg (5) and a clamp leg (4). The clamp leg is bent closed in the manner of a loop onto the end of the contact leg and comprises a clamp opening (6) through which the end of the contact leg protrudes. A clamp edge (8) of the clamp opening located opposed to the clamp leg, together with the clamp leg itself, forms a clamp location in which the electric conductor passed through the clamp opening is clamped before the plug is-mounted on the holder.

  • Patent number: 6650950
Abstract: A method for monitoring the output function of an output unit (9). In particular, the output unit is a binary output unit of a safety-oriented programmable logic controller, which controls actuators (11) of an external technical process. The output function of the output unit (9) is monitored within a predetermined time interval by using bit patterns, which are produced by the external technical process, and by using bit patterns, which have not been transmitted by the output unit (9) to the actuators (11) of the external technical process. Therein, the number of output test bit patterns is reduced to a necessary minimum.

  • Publication number: 20030179817
Abstract: In a method of transmitting electromagnetic signals between a stationary transmitting/receiving station and a transmitting/receiving station in a magnetic levitation train vehicle, the magnetic levitation train vehicle is guided on a travel path that includes stator laminations arranged on its underside. Signals to be transmitted are coupled from a travel-path-side coupling-in point connected with the stationary transmitting/receiving station into the stator laminations of at least one travel path side of the magnetic levitation train, and are decoupled from a vehicle-side coupling-out point connected with the transmitting/receiving station in the vehicle out of the stator laminations and vice-versa. The stator laminations are used as a transport medium of signals between the respective coupling-in and coupling-out point.

  • Patent number: 6436248
Abstract: A method of coating of thin film coated magnetic disks and thin film magnetic disks made thereby is described. In accordance with the invention, a barrier layer is deposited on the substrate before the underlayer film(s) to increase the corrosion resistance of metallic substrate magnetic disks and, in the case of nonmetallic substrates, to reduce the diffusion of water to the substrate and of freely moveable ions from the substrate. Preferably the barrier layer is deposited by medium frequency pulsed sputtering at a frequency of 10 to 200 kHz and a pulse length to pulse pause ratio from 5:1 to 1:10. Aluminum or chromium are the preferred materials for the barrier layer. Additional improvements may be achieved where the sputtering process gas contains a proportion of oxygen and/or nitrogen.

  • Patent number: 6064328
Abstract: In an analog-digital converter, a sine signal angle-modulated with noise or pseudonoise is used as a dither signal. The dither signal is superposed on an analog useful signal that is to be digitized. This signal is then digitized. The dither signal is then filtered out to produce the digitized useful signal.

  • Patent number: 6031484
Abstract: The invention relates to a triggering control device for occupant restraint systems in a vehicle whose triggering readiness can be influenced as a function of collision-relevant parameters. According to the invention, collision parameter detection comprises object detection, which can detect a collision object before a collision occurs in an area near the vehicle, and can determine at least a relative speed. Whenever a collision object is detected, a signal generator delivers a collision parameter signal that depends on the relative speed determined. In a preferred embodiment the collision parameter detection unit also determines the intrinsic speed of the vehicle and whenever no collision object is detected, the signal generator supplies a collision parameter signal influenced by the intrinsic speed.

  • Patent number: 5918697
Abstract: An operating-element arrangement has a user-actuatable operating element which, when actuated in a first actuation direction, brings about an increase in the longitudinal direction of a motor vehicle. When actuated in a second actuation direction opposite to the first direction, the arrangement brings about a reduction in the longitudinal movement of the vehicle. The actuating force exerted on the operating element determines the change in longitudinal movement to be brought about. The rest position of the operating element is displaced in dependence on the longitudinal movement of the vehicle. The user consequently receives a perceptible and/or visible acknowledgement of the respective vehicle speed or of the deviation between the actual and the desired speed. Alternatively, the operating element can be configured isometrically, in that it remains in a fixed position irrespective of the actuating force.

  • Patent number: 5873430
Abstract: Control element arrangement for controlling the steering angle of a motor vehicle is provided. The arrangement has a user-operable control element by whose operation a steering angle adjusting unit can be controlled for the steering angle adjustment of the vehicle wheels which is mechanically uncoupled from the control element. A reaction force mechanism is provided for such an arrangement which exercises a reaction force onto the control element which counteracts the control element operating force and which rises when the steering angle size increases as well as when the longitudinal and/or lateral movement of the vehicle increases.

  • Patent number: 5868427
Abstract: A triggering circuit for a passenger restraint system for motor vehicles is provided with at lest one belt tightener for tightening a safety belt associated with a vehicle seat. A triggering circuit evaluates the acceleration signal from an accelerometer and delivers a triggering signal to the belt tightener when a critical impact is detected. An evaluation channel detects a rear-end collision. In the evaluation channel, on the basis of the acceleration signal that appears in the event of a rear-end collision, a travel signal that characterizes backward displacement of the passenger is determined that permits the triggering signal to be output to the belt tightener when a threshold value is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 5515933
Abstract: A device for recognizing a child's seat which is strapped to the front passenger's seat of a motor vehicle is provided. Such a device is required in order to inhibit release of a front seat passenger's side airbag when a child's seat is strapped on the front passenger's seat. An identification carrier, for example, an electrical tuned circuit or an intelligent data carrier, which attenuates an electromagnetic measurement field in a characteristic manner, is fitted to the child's seat. The presence and, possibly, also the type of child's seat used can be recorded.
