Patent number: 5971463Abstract: A receptacle, such as an ashtray, glove compartment or the like for vehicles, is described, comprised of a housing, a cover, which is hinged to the housing along a rim edge and extends over the housing with at least one curved guide arm, and a releasable detent device for maintaining the cover against the force of an opening spring in the closed position when the cover covers the housing. The detent device, which can be actuated by acting on the cover, has a heart-shaped control cam, which is arranged on the guide arm and embodied as a connecting link groove. A bolt, which is formed on a hinged lever on the housing side, acts against the cam and rests in a lockable manner therewith. In connection with this receptacle, it is provided in accordance with the invention that a blocking device, which reacts to extreme changes in velocity, is arranged on the housing. The blocking device prevents the hinged lever from relinquishing its position thereby maintaining the cover in the locked position.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1998Date of Patent: October 26, 1999Assignee: Becker Group Europe GmbHInventors: Manfred Nowak, Roland Ganssler, Elke Grunzner

Patent number: 5896675Abstract: A device has at least one storage container for material to be treated with at least one inlet line and at least one return line for circulating process air therethrough. At least one heating device for heating the process air is provided as well as at least one blower for circulating the process air. A control device for receiving a nominal dew point value is provided. At least one dew point measuring device is connected to the control device for measuring the actual dew point of the process air and transmitting the actual dew point value to the control device. A first mixing valve is connected either to the inlet line or to the return line. The control device controls the first mixing valve by comparing the actual dew point value to the nominal dew point value and sending a respective control signal to the first mixing valve such that the process air has a dew point corresponding to a specific nominal, residual moisture-dependent air dew point of the material to be treated.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1996Date of Patent: April 27, 1999Assignee: Motan Holding GmbHInventors: Klaus Holler, Manfred Nowak

Patent number: 5484184Abstract: An openable vehicle roof with a cover, by which a roof opening can be alternately closed or at least partially opened. By a flexible screen, a visible gap on each lateral side, resulting from the pivoting out of the cover above a fixed roof panel, is covered. The top end of the screen is connected to the cover near a respective side edge of the cover, and its bottom end is supported to slide lengthwise in a guideway connected to the fixed roof panel. By the construction of the screen, a simple installation and a space-saving arrangement is made possible.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1995Date of Patent: January 16, 1996Assignee: Webasto Karosseriesysteme GmbHInventors: George Kohlpaintner, Kurt Kugler, Stjepan Radmanic, Roland Wittal, Manfred Nowak

Patent number: 4664435Abstract: A sun visor for vehicles is disclosed which has a cushioning sun visor body surrounded by a cover layer and stiffened by an incorporated reinforcement insert. At one end of one of the longitudinal edges of the body, a support shaft is mounted with one end in the body and the other end held by a swivel bearing. At the other end of the same longitudinal edge, a support pin is mounted extending across a recess defined in that edge. The support pin is approximately parallel to that longitudinal edge and can be detachably engaged with the support receiver of an outer support. The support pin is formed, in whole or in part, of a plastic body which is injection molded directly onto a region of the cover layer.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1984Date of Patent: May 12, 1987Assignee: Gebr. Happich GmbHInventors: Gunter Dietz, Manfred Nowak, Klaus-Peter Kaiser

Patent number: 4635994Abstract: A sun visor for automotive vehicles including a mirror supported in a housing which is in a recess defined in a surface of the visor body. The mirror is reversible for exposing its reflecting or non-reflecting sides. One edge of the mirror is swingably supported in bearing pedestals which are slidable in lateral guide slots defined in the housing in the recess, whereby as the mirror is reversed in position, the pivot axis thereof slides along the guide slots.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1985Date of Patent: January 13, 1987Assignee: Gebr. Patent number: 4623188Abstract: A sun visor for an automotive vehicle has a generally flat visor body of approximately rectangular contour. It is separated into an upper part and a lower part which are movable along guide pins toward and away from each other effectively lengthening or shortening the height of the visor body. Pins projecting from the lower edge of the upper part are received in pin receivers opening at the upper edge of the lower part, so that the upper part and lower part may be moved together and apart. A tongue-like extension projects from one side surface or from both side surfaces of the upper part down past the corresponding side surface of the lower part, and the extension is of a length so that when the upper and lower parts are separated, the tongue-like extension covers the gap between them.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1984Date of Patent: November 18, 1986Assignee: Gebr. Happich GmbHInventors: Peter Juraschek, Manfred Nowak

Patent number: 4363511Abstract: The invention is concerned with a hollow mounting pin for a sun visor for an automotive vehicle. The mounting pin is bent. One leg is affixed to the body of the automotive vehicle. The other leg serves as one part of the swivel bearing for the sun visor body. An electric conductor passes through the hollow mounting pin. At the end of the hollow mounting pin located at the swivel bearing on the visor body, a receptacle is formed. An electric switch contact is supported in the receptacle. The contact includes a contact projection that extends through the wall of the receptacle. A cooperating strap is defined on the visor body. As the visor body is swiveled, the strap selectively contacts or is out of contact with the contact projection. The electric switch contact in the receptacle is prevented from pivoting with respect to the receptacle by the contact projection and/or by appropriate complementary profiling of the electric switch contact and the receptacle.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1980Date of Patent: December 14, 1982Assignee: Gebr. Happich GmbHInventors: Lothar Viertel, Klaus-Peter Kaiser, Manfred Nowak

Patent number: 4272118Abstract: The invention concerns a novel electric connection to a light source, or the like, on a sun visor for a vehicle. At one edge of the sun visor body, there is a pivot pin that is supported in a preferably plastic support that is held in the sun visor body. The pivot pin is received in a socket held to the body of the vehicle and which includes electtric contacts in it. An electric lead extends through the pivot pin and leads to the light source. The pivot pin has a radially extending groove. A contact element extends from outside the groove into the groove for contacting the lead therein. The contact element extends out of the groove and may be wrapped around the pivot pin for engaging a corresponding contact element in the socket, which contact element is connected, in turn, to an electric wire in the vehicle electrical system. Various forms of contact elements for the pivot pin are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1979Date of Patent: June 9, 1981Assignee: Gebr. Happich GmbHInventors: Lothar Viertel, Manfred Nowak
