  • Patent number: 7824015
Abstract: An ink jet writing head includes a pressurized ink chamber provide with at least one ink nozzle that is closed by a mobile valve body. A piezoelectric valve actuating device that is electrically connected to a control device drives the valve body with reciprocating motions. The valve body is held by a closing spring in the closing position thereof and is connected to a connecting rod in a driving manner. At least one curved spring strip engages with the end of the connecting rod, located at a distance from the valve, the spring strip being supported on the valve-side end thereof, opposite the ink chamber. The connecting rod is subjected to the tractional prestress of a tension spring. At least one piezoelctric element is applied to the spring strip, the piezoelectric element being controlled by the control device in such a way as to perform tractile movements.

  • Publication number: 20090115816
Abstract: The invention relates to an ink jet writing head comprising a pressurised ink chamber (2) provided with at least one ink nozzle that is closed by a mobile valve body (6). A piezoelectric valve actuating device (9) that is electrically connected to a control device (18) drives the valve body (6) with reciprocating motions. The valve body (6) is held by a closing spring (7) in the closing position thereof and is connected to a connecting rod (8) in a driving manner. At least one curved spring strip (14) engages with the end of the connecting rod (8), located at a distance from the valve, said spring strip being supported on the valve-side end thereof, opposite the ink chamber (2). The connecting rod (8) is subjected to the tractional prestress of a tension spring (7, 23). At least one piezoelectric element (17) is applied to the spring strip (14), said piezoelectric element being controlled by the control device (18) in such a way as to perform tractile movements.

  • Publication number: 20080246821
Abstract: The invention relates to an ink jet write head which comprises a pressurized ink compartment (2), at least one ink nozzle (5), obturated by a movable valve body (6), and a piezoelectric valve actuation element (10). Said element drives the valve body (6) to perform lifting movements and is electrically connected to a control device (16). A piezoelectric element (14, 15) is applied to both sides of a bending strip (11) which is linked with the valve body (16) in a driven manner. The piezoelectric elements are especially planar and can be electrically controlled by the control device (16) independently of each other. The bending strip (11) consists of a spring steel sheet and is bent to such an extent that a strip limb (11a) at the valve end extends at an angle to the stroke direction of the valve body (6) and that a longitudinal section (11b) of the bending strip (11) is bent relative thereto.

  • Patent number: 5602575
Abstract: An ink chamber (2) connected to an ink pressure source is arranged in an ink jet printing head (1). Several closure elements (7), each of which closes an ink jet nozzle (5), are arranged in the ink chamber (2). Each closure element (7) is connected to a drive device via a tie rod (8). Each tie rod (8) moves out of the ink chamber (2) through an actuating opening (9). A tie rod seal arranged at each actuating opening (9) consists of a slim, conical frustrum-shaped sealing sleeve (12) which can be elastically deformed in the axial direction, the wider end of which is sealingly connected to the edge of the actuating opening (9) and the narrower end of which sealingly surrounds the tie rod (8). When the tie rod (8) moves axially, the sealing sleeve (12) is only deformed axially.
