  • Patent number: 4546489
Abstract: A single tank X-ray diagnostic generator has a double focus X-ray tube, two high voltage transformers feeding the X-ray tube, and two doubler circuits respectively connected to the secondaries of the high voltage transformers for doubling the output voltage thereof, each doubler circuit consisting of two high voltage rectifiers and two high voltage capacitors. All of the components are contained in a single oil-filled receptacle having a radiation exit window through which the X-rays are emitted. The transformers for supplying the filament voltages to the X-ray tube filaments are adjacently disposed in the receptacle at one end of the X-ray tube.

  • Patent number: 4442483
Abstract: A resonant circuit inverter has an LC series resonant circuit and a switching device for connecting the resonant circuit with periodically alternating polarity to a dc voltage source, the switching device feeding a high voltage transformer. The resonant circuit inverter further includes an interstage transformer having a primary winding serving as the inductance in the LC resonant circuit and having a secondary winding connected to the primary winding of the high voltage transformer, the high voltage transformer having a secondary winding at which the load voltage is tapped.

  • Patent number: 4400822
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, the secondary parts of the high voltage transformers each are connected with a respective doubler circuit formed of rectifiers and capacitors. All components are arranged in a single oil-filled receptacle which has a radiation exit window for transmitting the x-radiation. The two high voltage transformers are disposed symmetrically relative to the radiation exit window in proximity to respective receptacle sidewalls and adjacent the x-ray tube. The rectifiers and capacitors are disposed above the x-ray tube and symmetrically relative to the radiation exit window.

  • Patent number: 4357537
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, with a high voltage rectifier, two individual capacitors connected in series across the rectifier output, and radiation shielding surrounding the x-ray tube, the radiation shielding is connected with the connection line of the two individual capacitors in an electrically ungrounded fashion and the cathode of the x-ray tube is connected to ground.

  • Patent number: 4323781
Abstract: In an exemplary arrangement a rotatable scanning system comprises an X-ray tube which emits a beam of X-rays which penetrates the layer to be examined, and a radiation receiver which supplies electrical output signals corresponding to the measured radiation intensity. A computer is connected to the radiation receiver for calculating the attenuation values of specific image points of the irradiated body layer from the output signals of the radiation receiver. An inductive transformer is provided for transmitting energy to the X-ray tube, its secondary winding being arranged in a fixed position relative to the X-ray tube and rotating with the scanning system and its primary winding being fixed relative to the stationary part of the unit.

  • Patent number: 4274003
Abstract: In the exemplary embodiment, in order to obtain a signal corresponding to the x-ray tube voltage, a voltage divider is connected in parallel with the x-ray tube whose resistances are bridged over by capacitances. The resistances of the voltage divider are applied in thick film technique in the form of windings on the one side of a substrate. On the other side of the substrate, conductive layers are applied of which each capacitively bridges over a portion of the windings.

  • Patent number: 4209406
Abstract: A half-wave rectifier is connected between the cathode-side end of the secondary winding of the high voltage transformer and the x-ray tube anode. Between the anode and the anode-side end of the high voltage secondary winding, a high voltage capacitor is connected, which is capable of storing a portion of the energy necessary in order to feed the x-ray tube during one mains half wave. The rectifier is polarized such that the capacitor is charged during those particular secondary half waves in which current does not flow through the x-ray tube.
