  • Patent number: 7876588
Abstract: In a device and a method for controlling an electromechanical power converter (10), particularly of an electric motor and/or generator, comparatively cost-effective switches (14, 18) can be used without drastically decreasing the serviceable life of the entire system. A number of controllable switches (14, 18) can be used for controlling the converter (10), and dividing up a switching load, which is caused when connecting e.g. short-circuiting converter connections (21, 22), to a number of switches (14, 18) over the serviceable life.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 26, 2006
Date of Patent: January 25, 2011
    Assignee: Continental Automotive GmbH
    Inventors: Steffen Hopf, Manfred Ringlstetter

  • Publication number: 20080090702
Abstract: In an electronic parking brake system and a method for controlling said system, the parking brake system control (12) shifts to a second operational state (38) when the system is in a secure state (40) and the ignition is turned off. In the second state, consumption of quiescent current is reduced as a result of a drop in input interface (20) request frequency.

  • Publication number: 20070225890
Abstract: In an electronic parking brake system and to a method for controlling said system, to detect an undesired positional modification of an actuator (14) of the parking brake system during an inactive state of the controller (12), the latter is switched to an active state by a sensor (22). To generate the displacement signal (24), the sensor (22) only draws energy from the motion of the actuator (14) or from a modification of the magnetic field that is caused by the motion of the actuator (12).
