  • Patent number: 5240310
Abstract: A seat base, in particular for a motor vehicle seat, which may be manufactured at reasonable cost, has the necessary strength properties and permits replacement of the upholstery and/or cover is disclosed. The seat base is divided into a dish-shaped upholstery support made from a thermoplastic material and a seat frame. The seat frame is consists of at least two longitudinal supports made from a thermoplastic, high-strength which are connected to one another by means of steel cross-beams.

  • Patent number: 5195222
Abstract: A fastening connection between a cushion covering and a support for the cushion is disclosed. The support may be molded from a thermoplastic resin by injection. The connection comprise a hook profile strip which snaps into position fastening the edge of the cushion cover to the support. The support is characterized in that it has a U-shaped edge having recesses and projections for engaging with the hook profile strip.

  • Patent number: 5029942
Abstract: In order to be able to rationalize the mass production of back rest support structures from plastic for vehicle seats by injection molding, an injection molded part is provided which comprise a back shell and a frame which surrounds it like a cassette, the frame consisting of U-section side members which are open at the side and a U-section cross member which is open on one side.

  • Patent number: 4616874
Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly is for a vehicle seat having a back rest and a seat surface. The back rest is adjustable in inclination and the seat surface is adjustable in height and inclination. To reduce the height of the assembly and to enable the height and inclination of the seat surface to be adjusted independently of the back rest inclination, the seat frame is supported at its front end by levers. At the rear end of the seat frame is a support frame and a back rest frame, the back rest frame being movable relative to the support frame to raise and lower the rear end of the seat frame. The support frame and back rest frame are movable together about a horizontal axis to adjust the inclination of the back rest and the seat frame is suspended at its rear end on the back rest frame.
