  • Patent number: 8394264
Abstract: In order to keep diesel or heating oil obtained by fractional distillation, in particular after depolymerization of residues, or pyrolysis oil that was obtained by pyrolysis of rubber or organic substances, permanently clear and light, first, the process of discoloration (darkening) is allowed and then a second distillation is carried out, through which a permanently clear and light heating, diesel or heavy oil is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20090050525
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for depolymerising raw materials containing hydrocarbons, such as residues in a continuous process. To achieve a uniform operation using a comparatively simple technique, the raw material, which has been pre-heated to a liquid or pulpy consistency, is continuously injected under pressure into a reactor (4), which has been heated to a decomposition temperature and a gaseous fraction is continuously withdrawn from the reactor for further processing, whilst a bottom fraction is continuously removed or removed at intervals. The raw material is preferably pre-heated, liquefied and injected by an injection pump or exterior screw. A high degree of availability is guaranteed in conjunction with a mixer or doctor head, which cyclically removes deposits on the interior walls of the reactor.

  • Patent number: 5607603
Abstract: Cast-iron bodies are repaired or surface defects corrected by chambering the cast-iron body in the region of the defect and positioning the body with the resulting recess upwardly opening beneath a crane from which the head of an electrode advancing unit is suspended. The cast-iron electrode extends into the recess and is advanced automatically in accordance with detection of the arc length. The welding arc is struck to deposit weldment in the recess while the electrode is swung in a pendulum motion back and forth.

  • Patent number: 5338941
Abstract: Spherulitic cast iron container bodies for radiation shielding containers for irradiated fuel elements are provided with sealing coatings which prevent the body from acting as a galvanic element in a water basin during the filling of the container with the irradiated fuel elements. The coating of nickel, nickel based alloys or chromium/nickel austenitic alloys is applied by applying particles of a diameter less than the diameters of open pores of the body surfaces to these surfaces and then fusing the particles together and to the substrate with a laser beam, preferably in a back and forth motion. The pores are thus filled with the particle melt layer.

  • Patent number: 4882092
Abstract: Nuclear residues with a Co60 specific activity of 1 to 100 Bq/g, such as concrete or metal parts of a nuclear reactor installation, are used as raw materials for the production of radiation shielding structures for such nuclear installation. The concrete reisdues can be broken up to form an aggregate for concrete which is cast to form such structures and metal objects can be added for the casting of transport and storage vessels for radioactive wastes.

  • Patent number: 4708571
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for melting radioactive waste contained in a metal transport vessel and in which the transport vessel is introduced into a container which is closed by a laterally retractable cover and then inverted by rotation through 180.degree. about a horizontal axis to lie above the mouth of a furnace. The mouth of the furnace is provided with a horizontally retractable slider and the cover and the slider are independently retracted to allow discharge of the transport vessel and the radioactive waste contents thereof into the furnace for melting therein. The container and its cover thus form part of the gate allowing transfer of the radioactive waste into the furnace without a hot or radioactive cell shielding the entire unit from vagabond or wayward radioactivity.
