  • Patent number: 3962433
Abstract: A method for the treatment of diseases relating to the abnormal deposition or dissolution of difficutly soluble calcium salts in the body of warm-blooded animals which consists of administering orally, parenterally or topically to said warm-blooded animals, a safe but effective amount of at least one pharmacologically acceptable phosphonoalkane-polycarboxylic acid and water-soluble salts thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 3, 1974
Date of Patent: June 8, 1976
    Assignee: Henkel & Cie G.m.b.H.
Inventors: Karl-Heinz Worms, Christian Gloxhuber, Manfred Schmidt-Dunker, Helmut Blum
  • Patent number: 3960888
Abstract: Pyrrolidone-5,5-diphosphonic acids having the formula ##EQU1## wherein R is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; as well as their water-soluble salts. The pyrrolidone-5,5-diphosphonic acids are excellent sequestering agents especially for alkaline earth metal ions. They are stabilizers for percompounds and are useful in the delaying of the setting times for gypsum. In addition, the compounds are useful as cosmetic preparations such as toothpastes and mouthwashes where they prevent formation of tartar and plaque and are useful in therapy in the treatment of diseases related to the abnormal deposition or dissolution of difficultly soluble calcium salts in the animal body.

Date of Patent: June 1, 1976
    Assignee: Henkel & Cie G.m.b.H.
Inventors: Walter Ploger, Manfred Schmidt-Dunker, Christian Gloxhuber
  • Patent number: 3948576
Abstract: An expansion bearing assembly for a converter carrying trunnion comprises a bearing secured to the carrying trunnion and accommodating its angular and wobbling movements, and arranged in a housing. In the assembly the carrying trunnion is united with the spur gear wheel in a common bearing and drive housing. The bearing is axially shiftable on rollers.

    Filed: April 3, 1975
Date of Patent: April 6, 1976
Assignee: Nereinigte Osterreichische Eisen- und Stahlwerk - Alpine Montan Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Ernst Riegler, Manfred Schmidt
  • Patent number: 3941772
Abstract: Azacycloalkane-2,2-diphosphonic acids having the formula ##EQU1## wherein R is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms and n is an integer from 3 to 5; as well as their water-soluble salts. The azacycloalkane-2,2-diphosphonic acids are excellent sequestering agents especially for alkaline earth metal ions. They are stabilizers for percompounds and are useful in the delaying of the setting times for gypsum. In addition, the compound are useful in cosmetic preparations such as toothpastes and mouthwashes where they prevent formation of tartar and plaque and are useful in therapy in the treatment of diseases related to the abnormal deposition or dissolution of difficulty soluble calcium salts in the animal body.

  • Patent number: 3938855
Abstract: A large converter construction that is trunnion-supported in a driven expansion bearing and a driven fixed bearing with a trunnion-receiving bushing and a trunnion-connected driving toothed wheel on either side, has torque-transmitting crowned rollers inserted between the bushing and the trunnion, at least on the expansion side. A force-locking connection between the trunnion and bushing is provided on the fixed bearing side. The fixed bearing assembly also comprising a bearing containing inner rings and outer rings with spherical running faces having a common center.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 7, 1975
Date of Patent: February 17, 1976
Assignee: Vereinigte Osterreichische Eisen- und Stahlwerke-Alpine Montan Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Ernst Riegler, Manfred Schmidt
  • Patent number: 3936098
Abstract: A drive and bearing assembly for a converter construction has a fixed bearing and an expansion bearing. The expansion bearing comprises a bushing with recesses of semi-circular cross-section, into which bushing an axially movable trunnion with corresponding recesses of semi-circular cross-section protrudes. The trunnion is connected to or forms part of a driving toothed wheel. Crown rollers are inserted in the mutually supplementing recesses of the bushing and the trunnion.

    Inventors: Ernst Riegler, Manfred Schmidt
  • Patent number: 3936102
Abstract: A bearing assembly for accommodating angular displacements in torque-transmitting trunnions, has a spherical-face-shaped hub on the trunnion and a trunnion receiving bushing, both with toothings meshing with one another. A bearing comprised of inner rings and outer rings is inserted between the bushing and the trunnion. The bearing assembly is particularly suited for a tiltable converter with a carrying ring, in which the bushing is inserted into the carrying ring and the trunnion of the driving toothed wheel protrudes into the bushing.
