  • Patent number: 6109455
Abstract: The invention relates to a crockery basket for a dishwashing machine with a supporting frame into which adapted inserts may be introduced for various items such as cutlery, crockery and similar. An optimal, flexibly constructable fitting out of the crockery basket with crockery items is achieved according to the invention by virtue of the fact that the supporting frame is designed as a wire crockery basket, that all the inserts have a uniformly sized surface area with a base width and a base depth and that the wire crockery basket forms a right-angled receiving means for the inserts, the width of which corresponds to an x-multiple of the base width and the depth of which corresponds to a y-multiple of the base depth of the inserts.

  • Patent number: 5082192
Abstract: A yarn package transfer apparatus is provided which includes devices for removing hollow yarn package adapter devices from downwardly and generally vertically-extending package holders movably and serially-mounted on an overhead conveying system, for inserting such hollow adapter devices into the hollow tubes of a desired number of yarn packages positioned in a generally horizontal position in a package supply assembly, and for transferring such packages of yarn from the package supply assembly and mounting the hollow adapter devices and yarn packages carried thereby onto the vertically-extending package holders of the overhead conveying system for conveying of the yarn packages. The apparatus preferably includes devices for positioning the loose ends of the yarn from the yarn packages on the adapter device in desired positions during the transferring operation.

  • Patent number: 5004579
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for forming improved airlaid fibrous articles are disclosed. Airlaying apparatus is provided which permits at least two types of fibrous materials to be defiberized and transported to a single airlaying apparatus. In a most preferred embodiment, a drum-type airlaying drum having a plurality of deposition cavities is provided. By controlling the airflow and pressure differential, selective placement of each type of fibrous material within a cavity is achieved. Also disclosed are improved deposition cavities which permit multiple materials to be airlaid and retained in position by providing a foraminous surface on at least a portion of the cavity sidewall. Most preferably, a hydrophobic fiber layer is formed and a layer of absorbent fiber is deposited within the first layer; the present invention permits a clear demarcation between the fiber types. Also disclosed is improved apparatus for removing airlaid articles from deposition cavities, using a precisely controlled airstream.

  • Patent number: 4409198
Abstract: Copper(II) chloride is prepared from copper(II) oxychloride in a nonpolar solvent, preferably during oxychlorination. As the source of hydrogen chloride, the hydrochlorides of certain tertiary amines having 12-40 carbon atoms in total are utilized. The amine contains at most one N-methyl group and its dissociation constant K.sub.a of the equilibrium reactionNR.sub.3 H.sup..sym. +H.sub.2 O.revreaction.NR.sub.3 +H.sub.3 O.sup..sym.is 10.sup.-3.5 to 10.sup.-8.5. Preferred tertiary amines are a trialkylamine of 15-36 carbon atoms; an N-alkylazacycloalkane of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl of 6-15 carbon atoms, 5.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.8, ALK represents one or more alkyl substituents, and the N-alkylazacycloalkane contains at least 15 carbon atoms; or an N,N-dialkylaniline wherein each alkyl group independently contains 6-12 carbon atoms and the benzene ring is optionally substituted by one or more alkyl groups of 1-3 carbon atoms each.
