Abstract: A metallurgical silicon is disclosed which contains substantially from 30 to 180 ppm of phosphorus comprised of a crystalline phase of primary silicon having a dissolved phosphorus content between 30 and 150 parts per million and intermetal phases whose global ratio is between 0.5 and 2%, wherein among the intermediary phases, the phase Si.sub.2 Al.sub.2 Ca does not exceed 0.3% of the total of the metallurgical silicon mass. The metallurgical silcon is used for the synthesis of alkyl or aryl halogenosilanes useful for the preparation of silicones.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a clamping body which includes a lever which bears against a saw blade inserted into the clamping body. A tension spring is connected to the lever and to the clamping body and the tension spring bears against a pin which is slideably mounted in the clamping body. The pin bears against the saw blade and moves the saw blade out of engagement with form-lock projections in the clamping body when the lever is moved to an unlocked position.

Abstract: In the production of an organochlorosilane by reaction of silicon with at least one of an alkyl or aryl chloride in the presence of a copper catalyst, the improvement which comprises employing as the silicon fine-particle silicon containing surface-bound chlorine produced by contacting fine-particle silicon in reactive form with gaseous or liquid chlorine.

Abstract: In a quick-action clamping device for axially securing a disk-shaped tool, particularly a grinding wheel on a flange of a driven spindle that has a clamping part provided with a thread that can be screwed to the thread of the spindle. The disk-shaped tool is held clamped between contact surfaces of the flange and the clamping part whose spacing from one another can be changed. It is proposed to avoid complete release of the tension nut during spindle stop operation in that the tool is pressed against the flange by means of at least one additional holding surface via a spring force, and that this additional holding surface is connected to the spindle in a manner secured against relative rotation.

Abstract: A private branch exchange (PABX) with an integrated mobile part for controlling cordless terminals (HS) is established, which can be operated from base stations (BS).The private branch exchange (PABX) contains freely configurable interface modules (I/F) for wired (DE) and cordless (HS) terminals, which can be operated from a base station (BS). A central control unit (PABX-CPU) is provided to control all call handling and service feature control tasks, and a subordinate control unit (Mobile-CPU) for call setup and switch-off control of the cordless terminals (HS) in accordance with a set of assigned call numbers. The control units (PABX-CPU, Mobile-CPU) and the interface modules (I/F) are connected with each other through a bus system (BUS).

Abstract: A drive unit for a watercraft, in particular for an inflatable boat, with a motor unit and with a pump unit for the intake, acceleration and expulsion of water, which pump unit is in a driving connection with the motor unit via a power train, and with fastening members for detachably mounting the drive unit to a watercraft. The inboard motor unit and the outboard pump unit are connected with one another via supporting members which serve to support the motor unit, are fastened to a housing enclosing the pump unit and, together with the power train, penetrate a plate which is arranged between the two units, forms a front side of the housing and is detachably connected with the transom of the watercraft.

Abstract: Metallic silicon for the Rochow-Synthesis is reduced to particles measuring at least 5 mm in their smallest dimension and 15 mm in their largest dimension, cooling the silicon from a temperature of at least 700.degree. C. to at most 120.degree. C. within a maximum of 2 seconds, and then ground and reacted.

Abstract: A water-jet drive with a stator and a rotor enclosed by a housing having an inlet and an outlet nozzle, the rotor shaft which supports the rotor at one end and has torque-transmitting means at the other end being rotatably supported in the housing by shaft bearings arranged upstream and downstreams. A shaft bearing associated with the torque-transmitting means and supporting the rotor shaft is constructed so as to enable an axial displacement of the rotor shaft which can be adjusted via an external adjusting member.

Abstract: An installation is described for establishing a connection between private branch exchanges (PABX), each of which has a base station allocated within a determined geographic area (GA), where the base station provides a determined number of utilization channels served by telecommunication, through which mobile cordless terminals communicate with the base station, and thereby with the branch exchange, throughout the geographic area. The base station (BS.sub.2) of a second branch exchange (PABX.sub.2) is located within the geographic area (GA) of a base station (BS.sub.1) of a first branch exchange (PABX.sub.1), and a wireless cross linkage is established by the two base stations (BS.sub.1, BS.sub.2) and their telecommunication (PABX.sub.1, PABX.sub.2).

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the preparation of organosiloxanes, in particular those containing a high proportion of low molecular weight cyclic and chain structured organosiloxanes, preferably cyclic dimethylsiloxanes, by hydrolysis of the corresponding organochlorosilanes, in which a high proportion of gaseous hydrogen chloride is formed at the same time.

Abstract: An electric motor has a ferrous core extending along, rotatable about, and centered on an axis. This core is formed with axial slots and has opposite end edges centered on the axis. A winding extends along the slots of the core and has opposite axial ends extending axially beyond the core. A fan on the core circulates air axially over the core and winding. Respective deflector cages on the winding ends each include an inner ring, an outer ring fitted over the respective end edge of the core, and a plurality of ribs extending axially and radially between the rings and projecting generally axially from the respective winding end. The ribs are spaced apart on the respective winding end such that the winding end is exposed between the ribs. Thus on rotation of the rotor, particles blown by the fan are deflected by the ribs before they engage the winding ends.

Abstract: A portable electric grinder wherein the grinding wheel is held against rotation relative to the spindle by two annular clamping rings. The spindle has a motor-driven hollow outer shaft and an inner shaft which is installed in the outer shaft and can be held against rotation with the outer shaft by a manually depressible arresting member. One of the clamping rings rotates with the hollow shaft and the other clamping ring mates with the inner shaft. When the inner shaft is held against rotation and the motor is started for a short interval of time, the hollow shaft rotates the one clamping ring which rotates the grinding wheel and the other clamping ring by friction so that the grip of the clamping rings upon the grinding wheel is loosened and the grinding wheel can be fully separated from the spindle by completing the unscrewing of the other clamping ring from the inner shaft. The motor drives the hollow shaft through the medium of a step-down transmission.

Abstract: A fuel tank configured for universal use in the rear region of motor vehicles beneath the vehicle floor is mounted so that it can yield in the case of a rear deformation caused by an accident. The fuel tank is connected firmly to parts fixed to the vehicle in the forward region of the fuel tank in the direction of travel and is retained laterally in the rear region of the fuel tank in the direction of travel by guide bolts or the like in guides with slots open towards the rear, the guides being fixed to the vehicle frame and extending horizontally in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, so that upon rear impact, foreshortening of the vehicle frame causes the guide bolts to leave the guide slots resulting in downward rotation of the rear part of the fuel tank.

Abstract: The very economical padding methods for applying liquid treatment agents and which have largely become established for flat-lying material are also interesting for dyeing and finishing tubular textile material. In the latter case, the use of this technique is however opposed by the finding that on impregnating circular-knitted goods on a pad mangle the squeeze edges are marked on both sides of the tube, which gives rise, for example, to undesirable color differences. According to the invention, this adverse phenomenon and the problems arising therefrom can be avoided if, through maintaining a relatively high liquor pick-up by the textile material and through mechanical shifting of the edges, the liquor is enabled to level out any unevenness produced on squeezing.
