  • Patent number: 6871606
Abstract: A method and device for regulating the transport of material in a sewing or embroidery machine (1) that uses information from a position or movement sensor (33) located underneath the throat plate (21). The controls for the sewing machine (1) calculate deviations of the actual feeding increments of the article to be sewn from the corresponding target values from the periodically read sensor signals. With this information, the feeding increments are regulated in such a way that the deviations are cancelled out by averaging.

  • Patent number: 6409407
Abstract: A pen or pencil having a shaft which in its peripheral surface has at least one first and at least one second surface region. Irradiation of the first surface region with light of a first light quantity per unit of surface area results in an emission of visible light in the second surface region, wherein the light quantity emitted in the second surface region per unit of surface area for at least one first frequency is greater than the light quantity per unit of surface area of the first frequency, which is absorbed in the first surface region.

  • Patent number: 4474836
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing carpet liners successively applies a pre-coating and a heavy coating material to a carpet band to be treated. The pre-coating material, which contains an activated isocyanate-polyol mixture, is applied to the carpet band at a temperature at which the components of the mixture will not react with each other. A heavy coating thermoplastic material is subsequently applied to the carpet band. The heavy coating is applied at a sufficiently high temperature to cause the components of the pre-coating mixture, which already has been applied to the carpet band, to react with each other and form polyurethane. Accordingly, a pre-coating layer of polyurethane is formed simultaneously with the application of the heavy coating material.
