  • Patent number: 5940119
Abstract: There is disclosed a communications terminal, including a video telephone, for transmitting and receiving video and audio. The terminal includes video recording apparatus and video reproduction apparatus with the video recording apparatus being switchable into an "off" mode by operation of a flap. In order to use the transmission capacity of the communications terminal even when the flap is closed, an image which already exists in a video memory is transmitted. A changeover is automatically made to the video memory by operation of the flap.

  • Patent number: 5929909
Abstract: A videophone system having an electronically controlled shutter to vary the amount of light falling onto the target by a shutter, e.g., for a greater or lesser length of time during a short exposure time rather than b y means of a controlled mechanical aperture. Data reduction is used for the transmitted signal, a control circuit is used for the exposure time, and the mains power supply, which produces ambient light, are coupled by means of a PLL circuit so that the exposure time occurs at the same phase of the mains voltage. In this way, interference occurring when data reduction is used for the signal to be transmitted is avoided and macroblocks are not formed when no difference signal is present.

  • Patent number: 5528297
Abstract: A video camera which is convertable into a projector includes a detachable view finder having an eye-piece for viewing a scene to be recorded and an opto-electrical converter which converts the scene into an electronic image. A coupling supports the view finder during use as a camera or a light source during use as a projector. A display screen receives the electronic image and converts the electronic image into a visible image. A switch selectively connects the display screen to input terminals during use as a camera and to output terminals during use as a projector. The opto-electronic converter is pivotable away from the display screen when the camera is used as a projector.

  • Patent number: 4988927
Abstract: A deflection circuit for a television picture tube comprises a horizontal generator producing a first, symmetrical output current. A corrective current is generated from the first output current. The corrective current and the first output current change in value oppositely to one another at times. A vertical generator produces a second output current. The second output current and the corrective current are summed to form a composite current having a stairstep configuration. An amplitude control circuit for the composite current adjusts horizontal segments of the stairstep. A composite control signal for the amplitude control circuit is developed from the horizontal and vertical generators. A vertical sweeping coil is coupled to the amplitude control circuit and controlled by the composite current.
