    Abstract: The invention is a cosmetic or dermatological cleaning preparation, comprising one or more interface-active substances selected from the group consisting of alkyl glucosides having the formula where R is a branched or unbranched alkyl radical having 4 to 24 carbon atoms and where {overscore (DP)} is an average degree of glucosylation of up to 2. The preparation can be applied to the skin to improve a skin condition. In particular, the alkyl glucosides of the invention can be used in cosmetic or dermatological preparations to obtain or enhance selectivity the cosmetic or dermatological cleaning formulations.
