  • Publication number: 20040138528
Abstract: A surgical instrument is disclosed, preferably for the minimally invasive intervention in human or animal tissues comprising a, for example, needle-shaped base body (3) with at least one passage formed from a hollow fiber (2). The at least one hollow fiber (2) is surrounded by a matrix (5) of a fibre composite material. The use of hollow fiber (2) permits a simple production in particular of instruments with a number of passages. The use of more than one hollow fiber (2) within the base body (3) increases the application possibilities, for example, simultaneous monitoring and treatment of the tissue.

  • Patent number: 6537000
Abstract: A tool fixing device for clamping a tool in a tool holder, wherein the tool holder has a receptacle configured to clamp a shaft of the tool, has at least one static flexible element inserted into a force flow between the tool and the tool holder. The static flexible element is designed to damp tilting and bending vibrations of the tool in cooperation with a damping element provided in the receptacle at the free end of the shaft of the tool. This prevents chattering of the tool.

  • Publication number: 20020009247
Abstract: A high-speed rolling bearing has an outer ring and an inner ring arranged inside the outer ring. Rolling bodies are positioned between the inner ring and the outer ring and contact the inner ring and the outer ring. The outer ring has two oppositely positioned contact points for each rolling body on which the rolling bodies are supported, respectively. The contact points are configured such that a contact angle of the rolling bodies is at least approximately independent of a rotational speed of a rotary part supported by the high-speed rolling bearing.

  • Patent number: 5919014
Abstract: A device for manipulating workpieces has a support and linear actuators for moving the support. A coupling gear is connected to the support. The coupling gear includes at least two coupling members pivotably connected to one another. The at least two coupling members move the support in a plane of movement and lock a degree of freedom perpendicular to the plane of movement.

  • Patent number: 5463170
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the degradation of highly toxic halogenated organic compounds, in particular polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDD) and dibenzofurans (PCDF), contained in gases containing no SO.sub.2 by oxidation using preferably hydrogen peroxide. The SO.sub.2 -free gas is passed, in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, over a substantially inorganic solid contact catalyst, in particular pyrogenic or precipitated silica or aluminum silicate. A residual PCDD/PCDF content of below 0.1 ng TE/Nm.sup.3 may be achieved in the thus treated gas; the highly toxic compounds are oxidized on the solid contact catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4492513
Abstract: The invention relates to a manipulation system for workpieces, in which the individual workpieces are gripped by manipulator gripping arms and transported to predetermined locations in processing and/or magazine stations. For permitting a technically simple manipulation and transport of workpieces of different shapes by the use of tongs as gripping tools provided at the gripping arms, the invention provides that to an easily accessible wall of the respective workpiece a handling member is secured which is so designed and arranged as to permit the tongs to engage this handling member for transporting the workpiece e.g. from a magazine to the machine tool. Suitably, this handling member is in the form of a hollow pin which with an enlarged base is bonded to the workpiece and, after processing, may be knocked off or separated from the workpiece in some other manner.
