  • Publication number: 20020041825
Abstract: A blood treatment device, in particular a dialysis machine, which permits both single-needle and dual-needle operation. The device has a blood treatment unit, in particular a dialyzer that has an inlet connected to a feed line and an outlet connected to a return line. The feed line has two parallel line branches with a positive displacement pump being connected into the first and second line branches. To produce a fluid connection between the outlet of the dialyzer and one of the two pumps, a connection line is provided. For dual-needle operation, the feed and return lines are connected to an arterial and a venous needle. For single-needle operation, the feed and return lines are brought together and connected to a common needle. The connection line permits single-needle operation without great changes to the structure of the blood treatment device.

  • Patent number: 5652509
Abstract: A device for determining the velocity of a longitudinally traveling textile material, especially a yarn, using the closed-loop correlation of a transit time correlator in such a way that its reliability is improved. At least one sensor g.sub.1 consists of two signal receivers disposed one behind the other in the running direction of the yarn, having a sensor output characteristic curve with the intersection of the abscissa in the effective sensor center axis, and wherein the output characteristic curve shows a point-symmetrical behavior at least in the vicinity of the intersection with the abscissa. A second sensor g.sub.2 has a steady state output characteristic curve in the area of its effective sensor center axis. The control loop circuit of the transit time correlator is designed such that the undifferentiated cross-correlation function is used as the controller input signal for determining and readjusting the adjustment point for the model delay time .tau..

  • Patent number: 5385316
Abstract: A splicing apparatus has a drum rotatable about a drum axis adjacent a web roll and having a generally cylindrical outer surface centered on the drum axis. A pair of suction bars on the drum defining thereon an axially extending and radially outwardly open slot each have an outer surface and are each pivotal about an axis generally parallel to the drum axis between a rest position with the bar surface forming a respective part or continuation of the outer surface of the drum and a holding position with its surface pressed angularly against the other bar so that in the holding position a web end can be clamped between the bars. Air is aspirated through the surfaces of the bars to adhere the web to the drum. The drum can be rotated about the drum axis and can be moved to displace the drum into engagement with the web.

  • Patent number: 5288034
Abstract: A system for joining the end of a web of material (4) running off a first winding roll (17) with the beginning of a web on a new winding roll (1) interchanged with the first winding roll (17) on an unwinding machine comprising devices for cutting through the web (4) being wound off, for holding the end of the web so produced, and for pressing the end of the web against the periphery of an interchanged new winding roll (1), in order to produce an adhesive bond, has a splice element (6) which can be placed on the web being wound off (4), moved beyond the region of a full winding roll (1) and pressed against its periphery. The splice element (6) contains a web cutting element (15) and a holding element (16) which, when placed in contact with the web being wound off (4), is located behind the web-cutting element (15) in the direction of motion of the web.

  • Patent number: 5271302
Abstract: For the cutting of a web a circular cutter is journaled rotatably in a slide which is moved along the cutting line by means of a linear drive. The cutter has a disk-shaped base body journaled freely rotatable which upon its perimeter is provided with pointed cutting blades angled in the sense of rotation. The distance of the base body from the web is chosen such that only the cutting blades but not the base body penetrate the web. Furthermore, the cutting blades are so fashioned and arranged that upon their penetration of the web to the maximal depth of penetration, an uncut portion remains between two cutting blades which upon exit of the subsequent cutting blades is severed by their leading cutting edge.
