  • Patent number: 6695250
Abstract: Paper web sections which may have been produced by longitudinally cutting a wide paper web, and which are being fed in a production direction, are laterally shifted with respect to that production direction. The web sections are fed within a device for deflecting the paper webs transversely from the left and from the right, with respect to the machine production direction. Two upper 45° deflection devices are supported by lateral side frames and can be displaced horizontally transversely to the machine production direction. Each of these two upper deflection devices has a lower surface that lies in a horizontal plane and the two horizontal planes have different heights.

  • Patent number: 6544160
Abstract: A former is used to fold webs longitudinally. During the web drawing-in process, the individually incoming paper webs in a group of paper webs are conveyed smoothly to a folding mechanism at the end of the former. This is accomplished by using a number of upper and lower transport elements which are located above and next to each other at least inside the boundaries of the upper surface of the former. These upper and lower transport elements can be brought together and can be separated. They can be driven as desired.

  • Publication number: 20030047644
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for deflecting paper web sections that are produced by longitudinally cutting a wide paper web or that are fed in the machine direction of production. These paper web sections are fed within said device transversely to the machine direction, namely transversely from the left and transversely from the right with respect to the machine direction. Two upper 45° (13, 14) deflection devices are provided between devices mounted between lateral stands (06, 07) and can be displaced manually or by means of a motor in the horizontal direction, either individually or jointly along the transverse machine directions, the lowest surface lines of said deflection devices lying in horizontal planes that have different heights.

  • Patent number: 6419217
Abstract: A paper web is drawn into a printing and can be guided along a selected one of several paths. The paper web is weakened along a line of separation and is then held by a retaining system that can move the web in a conveying direction along a first path. The web is fed to a different conveying path and is separated ot torn along the line of separation. This line of separation or weakening is formed at an angle to the production direction.

  • Patent number: 6360665
Abstract: Coded retrievable signal information is applied to a paper web leading end prior to the paper web being directed to a print unit in a rotary, web-fed printing press. This signal information is scanned by signal reading devices and is forwarded to adjusting elements along the path of travel of the web through the press. These adjusting elements set the path of web travel to its final destination and also synchronize the printing units and the cutting units for the paper web.

  • Patent number: 5975525
Abstract: A paddle wheel is used to deliver folded products to a conveyor belt in a shingled fashion. The paddle wheel has a plurality of pockets which are formed by circumferentially spaced curved paddles. The thickness or width of each product receiving product is adjustable by providing a guide strip in each pocket. The end of the guide strip adjacent the bottom of each pocket can be shifted radially with respect to the axis of rotation of each paddle wheel by actuation of a drive assembly.
