The systems and methods include displaying, on a graphical user interface a plurality of application icons associated with a plurality of applications. A first application of the plurality of applications has a first application status represented by a first application icon. The first application can change from the first application status to a second application status. The second application status is different from the first application status. The second application status having a second application icon reflecting the second application status, wherein the second application icon is different from the first application icon.

The summary list includes an article that requires a subscription to the news channel in order to display the article. The method receives a selection to display the full article. The method determines that the device does not include a subscription to the news channel. The method displays a subscription offer by the news application. The subscription offer is optionally provided by a publisher of the news channel.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided that includes a fingerprint reader and a communication device, where the glove is configured to be worn on one of a finger or a thumb of a hand and where the fingerprint reader is configured to read fingerprint data from each of the fingerprints of the fingers on the hand. The apparatus may also include a processing device, wherein the processing device is configured to associate fingerprint data read from a first fingerprint with a first function. The communication device may be configured to provide for transmission of the first function. The processing device may also be configured to associate fingerprint data read from a second fingerprint with a second function. The communication device may also be configured to provide for transmission of the fingerprint data.
