  • Publication number: 20150202577
Abstract: A composition is described wherein a coating is provided on a microporous substrate, such as a low surface energy microporous substrate, which coating provides multiple functionalities to the underlying microporous material, while still maintaining porosity within at least a portion of the microporous substrate.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 30, 2015
    Publication date: July 23, 2015
Inventors: Donald T. Freese, Manish K, Nandi

  • Patent number: 6660800
Abstract: A process for making crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP-P) is disclosed. Crosslinker generation, followed by polymerization of NVP, gives a polymer containing up to 4 wt. % of residual NVP. An aqueous mixture of the polymer is then heated in the presence of a protic acid at pH<4 to eliminate NVP. Finally, the PVP-P is neutralized with aqueous alkali metal hydroxide. The process generates a reduced volume of low-toxicity aqueous waste (<20 L/kg PVP-P) and gives PVP-P that meets important product specifications.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 17, 2002
Date of Patent: December 9, 2003
    Assignee: Arco Chemical Technology, L.P.
Inventors: Beth M. Steinmetz, Manish K. Nandi
  • Patent number: 5319114
Abstract: Olefins are selectively converted to epoxides by reacting with an organic hydroperoxide in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst comprised of a carbon molecular sieve containing a Group IVA, VA, VIA, or VIIA transition metal such as molybdenum.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 23, 1993
Date of Patent: June 7, 1994
Assignee: Arco Chemical Technology, L. P.
Inventors: Anne M. Gaffney, Manish K. Nandi, Rangasamy Pitchai, Yuan-Zhang Han
  • Patent number: 5276210
Abstract: An improved allyl alcohol hydroformylation process and catalyst are disclosed. The process uses a catalyst system comprising a Group VIII metal carbonyl complex catalyst, a trisubstituted phosphine, a neutral Group VIII(a) metal complex cocatalyst, and optionally, a diphosphinoalkane. The process uniquely gives an enhanced linear:branched aldehyde product ratio.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 4, 1994
    Assignee: ARCO Chemical Technology, L.P.
