  • Patent number: 8385909
Abstract: A system is provided for dynamic communication adjustment. The system includes a server that obtains data associated with a base transceiver station. The server also compares the data to at least one threshold. Additionally, the server promotes adjustment of an operational parameter of a base transceiver station based on the comparison. Furthermore, the server promotes readjustment of at least one operational parameter based on an at least weekly comparison of subsequently obtained data associated with the base transceiver station to at least one threshold.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 22, 2012
Date of Patent: February 26, 2013
    Assignee: Sprint Communications Company L.P.
Inventors: Ashish Bhan, Anoop Goyal, Manish Padte, Hemanth Balaji Pawar, Michael E. Shafer, Jr.

  • Patent number: 7894361
Abstract: A system for managing network capacities is disclosed. The system comprises a processor implementing a data collection module configured to collect a plurality of capacity utilization data. The processor also implements a capacity analysis module configured to produce an actual capacity utilization map using the plurality of capacity utilization data. The capacity analysis module is also configured to produce a projected capacity utilization map using a plurality of designed node and link capacities, and a plurality of capacity engineering constraints. The processor also implements a simulation module configured to simulate a network management action and to produce simulated capacity utilization maps.

  • Patent number: 7742453
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method to condition removal of a carrier frequency from a wireless coverage area. The method involves evaluating handoff statistics for the coverage area, and applying results of past carrier frequency removal (preferably from a morphologically similar cluster) to predict a net change in hard handoffs that will result if the carrier frequency is removed. The method then involves using the predicted net change in hard handoffs as a basis to determine whether to remove the carrier frequency. The predicted net change in hard handoffs may be converted to a corresponding predicted net change in call drops, and the carrier frequency may then be removed only if the predicted net change in call drops does not exceed a threshold.
