  • Publication number: 20220143391
Abstract: A system and method for treating a medical condition of a subject and an apparatus for treating a medical condition of a subject by applying electrical stimulation to a target peripheral nerve. The apparatus includes a plurality of electrical stimulation electrodes are spaced from each other in a predetermined configuration and one or more recording electrodes. A wearable structure supports the stimulation electrodes and the recording electrodes spaced apart from each other. A control unit controls the operation of the stimulation electrodes and the recording electrodes. The control unit is configured to energize the stimulation electrodes to apply stimulation to a tibial nerve and record physiological response using the recording electrodes. The control unit is also configured to automatically detect the foot, right or left, upon which the apparatus is worn by monitoring a phase relationship or time delay between applying stimulation to the tibial nerve and recording the physiological response.

  • Publication number: 20200268404
Abstract: A drive system for a tissue resection device that drives a cutting tube in a rotating and reciprocating motion simultaneously. The cutting tube moves within an outer tube having a window at a distal end thereof. When activation of the device ceases, the device remains powered until the cutting tube assumes an extended position, thereby closing the window.

  • Publication number: 20170325939
Abstract: The present subject matter describes a suturing rings and method of manufacture of suturing rings for prosthetic heart valves. A plurality of suture holes are formed along a length of the metal sheet by performing punching or similar operations. The metal sheet has a substantially constant thickness throughout the length of the metal sheet. The rectangular metal sheet is rolled along the length until two ends of the metal sheet abut with each other. The two ends of the metal sheet are welded to form a metallic tube. The metallic tube is reshaping using a forming tool to obtain a suturing ring having an inner surface with a substantially convex profile. The suturing ring has an inner diameter at an inner peripheral edge at a first open end and an inner diameter at an inner peripheral edge at a second open end greater than an inner diameter at a mid-circumferential plane.

  • Patent number: 9232328
Abstract: A system includes a sound processor included in an electro-acoustic stimulation (“EAS”) device and that directs a cochlear implant to apply electrical stimulation to a patient and a receiver to apply acoustic stimulation to the patient. The system further includes a volume control facility and a selection facility that selectively associates the volume control facility with the electrical stimulation in response to a first user input, selectively associates the volume control facility with the acoustic stimulation in response to a second user input, and selectively associates the volume control facility with both the electrical stimulation and the acoustic stimulation in response to a third user input.
