Abstract: Control system, which is adapted for application in a vehicle and intended to recognise vehicles driving in front on the basis of environmental data which are obtained from at least one environmental sensor (110) disposed on the vehicle. The at least one environmental sensor (110) is adapted to provide an electronic controller (200) of the control system with the environmental data which reflect the area (115) in front of the vehicle. The control system is at least adapted and intended to detect another vehicle (alter) participating in traffic in front of the own vehicle (ego) with the at least one environmental sensor (110) during a predetermined time period or continuously and to recognise a position change of the other vehicle (alter). If a position change of the other vehicle (alter) is recognised, a signal (255) is output, which is suitable to warn a driver of the own vehicle (ego) of an irregularity in the road surface and/or to adjust a speed and/or a vehicle setting of the own vehicle (ego).

Abstract: A method for controlling a light emission of at least one headlight of a host vehicle includes: reading in a side collision warning signal which represents a risk for the host vehicle of a side impact from another vehicle; generating an activation signal using the side collision warning signal and a position information which represents a position of the other vehicle relative to the host vehicle; and controlling the light emission of the at least one headlight based on the activation signal, in order to illuminate the other vehicle with the aid of the at least one headlight.

Abstract: A method for adjusting a light emission of at least one headlight of a vehicle includes: a step for detecting an unstable travel condition of the vehicle defined as having a direction of a longitudinal axis of the vehicle differing by more than a tolerance range from a direction of motion of the vehicle; a step for providing a control signal for changing the light emission of the headlight of the vehicle in response to the detected unstable driving condition, the control signal being developed to effect a change in the light radiation characteristic of the at least one headlight of the vehicle, for adjusting the light emission.
