The set of settlement instructions includes one or more smart contracts governing one or more transactions on a distributed ledger. The settlement bot locks an asset in a first HTLC using the hashlock value. The first HTLC is associated with the set of settlement instructions. The settlement bot settles the set of settlement instructions upon receiving the secret value. Settling the set of settlement instructions includes unlocking the first HTLC and executing the set of settlement instructions, which includes transferring the asset to a destination account.
