Abstract: A door latching or unlatching push bar apparatus comprising: a mounting rail means to be carried by the door, the rail means having a locking rail; a push bar mounted for advancement and retraction relative to the rail means; support means carried by the push bar to extend toward the rail means, and a lock arm carried by the support means to be movable into and out of dogging position relative to the locking rail; and an actuator carried by the push bar and operatively connected with the lock arm to move the lock arm into and out of dogging position when the push bar has been advanced toward the rail means.

Abstract: A door lock structure includes a frame and a latch bolt carried by the frame for movement between retracted and advanced positions relative to a jamb. The bolt in its retracted position allows the door to open and when its in its advanced position blocks the closed door from opening. A first heat-fusible spring carried by the frame urges the bolt toward the advanced position. A lever pivotally carried by the bolt pivots between a first bolt blocking position and a second bolt freeing position. The lever has a second heat fusible spring carried by the bolt and acting on the lever for urging the lever toward the first bolt blocking position. The frame carries an actuator for pivoting the lever into the second position allowing movement of the bolt toward the retracted position. The lever also has a counterweight on the lever for keeping the lever in the first position to block retraction of the bolt in the event that the first and second springs melt.

Abstract: A door retention assembly locks a door in closed position in response to high temperature as during a fire, the door element having an edge portion closable into adjacent relation to an edge portion defined by a header element, and there being a strike carried by one of the elements. The assembly includes:(a) a latch carried by the other element to relatively move into latching relation with the strike when the door element is closed relative to the header element, thereby to hold the door closed,(b) and a control to control movement of the latch into and out of latching relation with the strike. Abstract: A pop-up sprinkler has a sprinkler housing containing a pop-up spray nozzle assembly springably biased to a retracted position. Upon supply of water under pressure to the housing, the assembly pops up to an elevated position to provide an irrigating water spray in a selected direction. A clamping collar prevents rotation of the elevated spray nozzle assembly with respect to the housing.

Abstract: A protective housing is provided which entirely encloses an impact drive irrigation sprinkler to prevent adjacent vegetation from interfering with normal operation of the sprinkler and to minimize damage due to vandalizing. In the case of pop-up type sprinklers, a lower portion of the housing is tapered to enhance the ability of the sprinkler to move axially through vegetation, such as ivy and the like, and the housing is arranged to entirely enclose the sprinkler in all operating and non-operating positions.
