  • Publication number: 20030073163
Abstract: The invention described herein comprises libraries of expressible gene sequences. Such gene sequences are contained on plasmid vectors designed to endow the expressed proteins with a number of useful features such as affinity purification tags, epitope tags, and the like. The expression vectors containing such gene sequences can be used to transfect cells for the production of recombinant proteins. A further aspect of the invention comprises methods of identifying binding partners for the products of such expressible gene sequences.

  • Patent number: 6459946
Abstract: A method and system for determining a total number of operators needed at a semiconductor wafer work center to achieve a wafer manufacturing goal is provided. The work center includes a wafer lot tracking system and a plurality of processing stations for processing a plurality of lots of semiconductor wafers to be manufactured. A highest operator throughput as a maximum rate of wafers that can be processed per operator based on data from the lot tracking system is determined, and a minimum number of operators that are needed to process wafers in the work center to achieve the manufacturing goal based on the wafer manufacturing goal and the highest operator throughput is determined. Furthermore, a determination is made of a number of working operators needed to process wafers in the semiconductor wafer work center to achieve the wafer manufacturing goal by increasing the minimum number of operators based on characteristics of the processing stations.

  • Patent number: 6032099
Abstract: Processes and algorithms to determine and correct key error sources in an inertial navigator. These key error sources are azimuth misalignment error and all gyro drift rate errors ("North", "East" and "Down"). Thus the invention provides improved directional accuracy and improved navigation performance. The processes and algorithms can be implemented within the system computer to determine and correct for the system error sources thus determined automatically.

  • Patent number: 5941935
Abstract: A process and algorithms to determine and correct for azimuth-axis drift rate in an inertial navigator. The process and algorithms may be implemented as an automatic sequence within the system computer to determine and correct the system errors thus determined. These actions provide the system with improved directional accuracy and improved navigation performance.

  • Patent number: 5816170
Abstract: A tractor bogie with an integral gauge-change system which includes two frames which support sets of running gear and have sliding and centering blocks to support the bogie and unweight the wheels as they pass through a gauge changer; a toothed extendible axle arranged between each pair of sets of running gear; and a pinion/ring-gear transmission set fitted on the bogie frame to transmit the traction moment to the extendible axle. The invention is applicable to rolling stock adapted to run on tracks having two gauges.

  • Patent number: 5789671
Abstract: A process and algorithms to determine and correct for the error in azimuth alignment and the errors in "North" and "East" Gyro Drift Rates in an inertial navigator which has been aligned via gyrocompassing, or via the "Stored Heading" technique, with the system "at rest". The process and algorithms may be implemented as an automatic sequence within the system computer to determine and correct the system errors thus determined. These actions make the inertial navigator more accurately represented by the model of an ideal navigation system with a pure and singular initial azimuth misalignment error. Thus the inertial navigator's inital azimuth misalignment error can be more accurately determined and corrected by the model.

  • Patent number: 5355787
Abstract: Taping apparatus (27) has a body (3) with a mouth (3a) opening to one side radially of an axis (A). A head (1, 5, 16) having a mouth (3a) radial of the axis (A) is mounted for rotation about the axis (A) on the body (3) and has a gear disposed around the head in meshing engagement with two gears (17) mounted on the body. The gears (17) are both in mesh with a gear (9) rotated by a gear (11) driven by motor (12) thus to rotate the head. A tape reel (28) is carried by chuck (6) rotatably disposed on an axle (8) on the head for rotation about an axis (B) parallel with the axis (A). A counterbalance (4) is mounted on the head (1, 5, 16) opposite the chuck (6) on axle (8) comprising a weight (2) movable towards and away from the axis (A) and a roller (26) urged by a spring (24) against the outermost layer (28a) of the tape on reel (28) thereby detecting the diameter of tape carried by the reel (28) thus to move the weight (2) to a position to substantially counterbalance the reel as it rotates.

  • Patent number: 4701690
Abstract: Transfer apparatus for use with an AC generator having a field winding, the DC energization of which controls the output of the generator. Associated with the generator are first and second voltage regulators each including means for sensing the output of the generator and means for varying the DC energization of the generator field winding to regulate the output of the generator to a respective reference level for each voltage regulator. The transfer apparatus includes a circuit for generating a first signal as a function of the generator output as sensed by the first voltage regulator sensing means and a second signal as a function of the generator output as sensed by the second voltage regulator sensing means. Another circuit independently produces an additional signal to which the first and second signals ordinarily have a predetermined relationship. A further circuit selects the first or second voltage regulator to energize the generator field winding.
