  • Publication number: 20030169168
Abstract: Automatic phase adjustment of a pulsed electronic article surveillance transmitter is provided. Amplitude sampling of a received signal is used to detect the leading edge of a interfering transmit pulse and a corresponding delay is calculated for synchronizing the instant transmitter to the interfering transmitter. Detection of EAS tags placed too close to the EAS transmitter interrogation zone is also provided. An alarm can be implemented to indicate detected EAS tags that are placed too close to the interrogation zone.

  • Publication number: 20030138451
Abstract: Chimeric gene formed by the DNA sequences that encode the antigenic determinants of four proteins of L. infantum, useful for the serological diagnosis of canine Leishmaniosis and protein obtained, that consists of the prior employment of a cloning strategy. The patent describes the intermediate products generated during the process. A clone is achieved expressed in the protein rLiPO-Ct-Q (pPQI). To this initial vector, by means of the use of suitable restriction targets, DNA fragments are sequentially added that are encoded in other proteins and after each cloning step the correct orientation of each one of the inserts reduces the size of the expression products, the complete nucleotide sequence of the final pPQV clone being determined. A polypeptide is obtained with a molecular mass of 38 kD and with an isoelectric point of 7.37.

  • Patent number: 6535130
Abstract: An EAS tag in which the tag is held to an article by an attaching assembly a part of which is releasably prevented from being withdrawn from the body of the tag. The tag body is provided with an arcuate channel through which an arcuate detacher probe can be guided for releasing the attaching assembly part. A spring clamp provides the releasable preventing function and includes jaws specifically adapted to respond to in-plane torsional forces provided by the arcuate probe which is moved through the arcuate channel by rotation to reach the spring clamp. The tag has improved anti-defeat devices and methods including one or more of the following; a shield to protect the EAS sensor, a shield to protect the releasable spring clamp, a tag self-alarm that alarms upon various unauthorized defeat attempts, an LED to signal an armed condition of the tag alarm, a magnet switch to alarm the tag upon exposure to a relatively strong magnetic field, and a plurality of apertures to decoy the position of the alarm piezo.

  • Patent number: 6525186
Abstract: A chimeric polypeptide encoded by a chimeric gene formed by DNA sequences that encode four antigenic determinants of L. infantum is disclosed. These antigenic determinants are obtained from rLiP2a, rLiP2b, rLiH2A and rLiPO. The protein obtained, has a molecular mass of 38 KD with an isoelectric point of 7.37. This chimeric polypeptide is useful for diagnosing, preventing and/or treating leishmaniosis in animals or humans.

  • Patent number: 4989770
Abstract: A device for removing a ring closed and locked by a fastener containing a protruding fastener lock, the device includes a fastener engagement member having a wall and a floor which define a recess adapted to receive the fastener therein. Attached to an outer surface of the fastener engagement member is a lever member adapted to exert force on the fastener when the lever member is moved, thereby breaking the ring locked to the fastener.
