  • Patent number: 8249562
Abstract: A method and apparatus in a telecommunication network for triggering services provided to a user. A service control node in the user's home network domain utilizes filter criteria, which may be derived from the user's user profile, to trigger the services. The service control node selects at least one filter criterion depending on the criterion's relevance to the user. Alternatively, the service control node is provided with at least one filter criterion not stored in the user profile.

  • Publication number: 20100268826
Abstract: A Serving Call Session Control Function, (S-CSCF) of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) determines charging capabilities of an Application Server (AS) of the IMS providing the service for each of a plurality of services being administered to users by the S-CSCF. The S-CSCF cooperates with the AS in the generation of charging information relating to the service. In this way, the S-CSCF is able to cooperate with the AS to avoid an unnecessary duplication of charging information between the S-CSCF and the AS. The S-CSCF is also able to cooperate with the AS to avoid an unnecessary loss of charging information between the S-CSCF and the AS.

  • Patent number: 7489634
Abstract: The invention refers a method of regulating the traffic that may be used between a SIP User Agent (SIP-UA) and a SIP Proxy in high traffic load situations, like in a telephony-SIP inter-working senario where the MGC in the inter-working gateway is acting as a SIP-UA. Thus, a method to fit the traffic between these two nodes into some margins which suit both node capabilities. The method comprises two procedures. The first procedure proposes a mechanism for any of both nodes, so called requesting node, to indicate the opposite node to act upon its traffic towards the requesting node. The reference for such decision is the current traffic being received at the requesting node at that very same moment. Any further traffic regulation indication will be related to the corresponding traffic level at the moment every new indication is issued, not necessarily being related to the traffic level being handled as previous indications were sent.

  • Patent number: 7149299
Abstract: System and methods for allowing the extension of the ISDN/GSM Call Completion to Busy Subscriber Supplementary Service across a Network Boundary between a general Switched Circuit Network (SCN) using ISUP as call control protocol, and an IP Packet Network using SIP as session control protocol. The methods define a set of new protocol elements to be included in the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) in order to make it possible to implement the required service logic in SIP User Agents and Clients. The methods also define the set of sequences, timers and use cases that a Network Gateway must fulfil in order to allow users from both networks to invoke the service for calls going through the Network Gateway in question; the Network Gateway represents an end-point for both SCN and SIP domains.

  • Patent number: 7103037
Abstract: Method and system to manage the state maintenance and the traffic maintenance of a Signalling Gateway Process (SGP), and of the corresponding Signalling Gateway (SG) or SGs served by such SGP, in scenarios where traditional Switched Circuit Network (SCN) signalling is transported over data networks, such as IP-networks. The method and the system for implementing the method involve defining a set of messages exchanged between a SGP and one or a set of concerned (connected) Application Server Process (ASP); driving the corresponding state-machines by the reception of such messages; and defining procedures for sending such messages and for receiving such messages. These messages can, optionally, convey also information about the destination routing parameters served by the SGP that become available or unavailable in the SCN through such SGP.
