  • Publication number: 20200021445
Abstract: A device receives, from an application, a request to access an attestation key stored in a secure element of the device. The device obtains an attestation policy, by which to verify an identity of the application. The device examines an application file associated with the application, to determine whether the application file satisfies the attestation policy. The device selectively generates a temporary key based on a result of examining the application file. The temporary key may be used to access the attestation key. The temporary key may be generated based on the application file satisfying the attestation policy, and may not be generated based on the application file not satisfying the attestation policy.

  • Patent number: 9986421
Abstract: To virtually transfer subscriber identity module (“SIM”) credentials from an active device to an inactive device in order to share carrier network access, temporary identifiers and SIM credentials are transferred using secure connections and an optional public-private key pair with encryption at the transport layer. In an example, a carrier identification (“ID”) server receives a temporary identifier, such as a temporary international mobile subscriber identity (“TIMSI”), from an inactive device via a carrier network. The carrier ID server authenticates the inactive device using the TIMSI by issuing a network challenge. Next, the carrier ID server verifies with an active device associated with the inactive device that the active device distributed the TIMSI. After authenticating and verifying with both devices, the carrier ID server activates the inactive device by allowing the TIMSI to behave as virtual SIM credentials on the carrier network.

  • Patent number: 9709413
Abstract: A device is configured to receive a request for directions from a user device. The device determines a start time, a start location, and a destination location for the directions. The device determines a route from the start location to the destination location and obtains travel condition information corresponding to the route. The travel condition information indicates a traffic condition or a weather condition. The device predicts a future travel condition along the route based on the travel condition information and the start time. The device generates the directions based on the future travel condition and provides the directions to the user device.

  • Patent number: 9503159
Abstract: An electronic device includes a processor, a memory, an embedded element storing information, and a short-range radio controller. The embedded element is readable by an external reader. The short-range radio controller is configured to receive a radio communication. If the short-range radio controller is being powered by a primary battery that powers the processor, the short-range radio controller is configured to route the radio communication to the embedded element if the radio communication is for accessing the embedded element, or route the radio communication to a component of the electronic device different from the embedded element if the radio communication is not for accessing the embedded element. If the short-range radio controller is not being powered by the primary battery, the short-range radio controller is configured to route the radio communication to the embedded element.

  • Patent number: 9374799
Abstract: The described examples provide a system and methods for identifying a location of a mobile device within an indoor venue using cellular communication signals obtained while the mobile device is within the indoor venue. An array of antennas arranged within the indoor venue detects cellular communication signals transmitted by the mobile device. The detected cellular communication signals have detectable and measurable signal parameters that allow the location of the mobile device within the indoor venue and an identifier of the mobile device to be determined. The determined identifier of the mobile device may also be used to identify the mobile device subscriber. The mobile device indoor location information may be used to update an anonymized subscriber profile associated with the mobile device subscriber.

  • Patent number: 9280366
Abstract: A system for adaptive application of device settings is disclosed. In the system, a first device may receive information identifying settings that are applied to one or more second devices. The settings may correspond to interactions, by a user, with the one or more second devices over a period of time. The one or more second devices be may non-mobile devices associated with one or more facilities. The first device may determine information identifying one or more conditions, associated with environmental conditions or conditions associated with the user's mood or physical state, under which the settings are applied to the one or more second devices; store information that correlates the settings of the one or more second devices with the one or more conditions; determine that at least one of the one or more conditions is met; and apply the settings to the one or more second devices.

  • Patent number: 9071971
Abstract: A mobile device includes a transceiver for performing wireless communication; one or more secure elements which execute applications in a secure environment; a near field communication system for performing wireless communication independent of the transceiver and at a lower amount of power than said transceiver; and a contactless front end included in the near field communications system for receiving a data message from a near field communication device. The contactless front end includes a filter list for evaluating the data message and for controlling whether each data message is transmitted further into the mobile device.
