Abstract: The invention relates to a closure element for a drain opening of a sanitary basin, in particular a sink, comprising a base body, which has an upper side, and an underside opposite the upper side, wherein a handle device is positioned on the upper side, and wherein the upper side has a recess, in particular positioned centrally on the upper side, in which the handle device is positioned, and wherein at least one sealing element is positioned on the underside in such a way that when the closure element is positioned at least partially in the drain opening of the sanitary basin, the closure element closes the drain opening in a liquid-tight manner.
