    Abstract: A light diffusion device permits a single light source to serve as both direct lighting and fill lighting for a photographic, theatrical or cinematographic subject. The light diffusion device partially reflects light emitted from a light source away from the subject, using a translucent panel. Additional translucent panels permit the reflected light to escape from the light diffusion device into the surrounding environment. The escaped light reflects from the surrounding environment, thereby creating fill light around the subject, thus reducing or eliminating undesirable shadowing.
