  • Patent number: 11081122
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coding information symbols of an alphabet into random acoustic signals. The coding dictionary is constructed in a heuristic manner by acquiring a set of random signals, by filtering same by way of the equivalent filter of the transmission channel, by selecting subsets of these signals, and, for each subset, by calculating the correlation matrix of the selected signals, the coding dictionary being constituted by the subset for which the correlation matrix most closely resembles a diagonal matrix. The invention also relates to a method for transmitting and receiving information symbols by way of acoustic signals.

  • Publication number: 20190291929
Abstract: A cup lid clamp assembly inhibiting a lid from falling off of a beverage cup includes a beverage cup for containing a beverage. A lid is removably coupled to the beverage cup. The lid has a drinking aperture extending therethrough to facilitate the beverage in the beverage cup to be consumed. A clamp is positionable around the lid and the clamp frictionally engages the beverage cup to inhibit the lid from is removed from the beverage cup. In this way the lid inhibits the beverage in the beverage cup from spilling. A clasp is movably coupled to the clamp and an engagement is coupled to the clamp. The clasp engages the engagement when the clasp is positioned in a closed position to compress the clamp around the lid.

  • Publication number: 20140311916
Abstract: The present invention provides, in some embodiments, hybrid materials having reticulated vitreous carbon (RVC) and nanoparticles of a conductive, transparent metal oxide such as tin-doped indium oxide (ITO). The material can further include one or more transition metal catalysts, such as {Ru(Mebimpy)[4,4?-((HO)2OPCH2)2bpy](OH2)}2+. Oxidation of water, benzyl alcohol, and other useful reactants is possible when the material is employed as an electrode.

  • Publication number: 20110186209
Abstract: The invention proposes a forming process for forming geometrically complex laminates made of composite material which allows obtaining very complex folded geometries, reducing the area of influence of the formed areas and making its effect local, handling the geometry of the laminate near the area to he formed, replacing the formed geometries with folded geometries, this way forcing the area of influence of the forming to be local, such that the length of the reinforcing fibers affected by said forming is minimal. The present invention also relates to complex geometries of laminates made of composite material obtained by means of the previous forming process.

  • Patent number: 6475647
Abstract: A method for protecting high temperature stainless steel from coking and corrosion at elevated temperatures in corrosive environments, such as during ethylene production by pyrolysis of hydrocarbons or the reduction of oxide ores, by coating the stainless steel with a coating of MCrAlX in which M is nickel, cobalt, iron or a mixture thereof and X is yttrium, hafnium, zirconium, lanthanum or combination thereof deposited onto and metallurgically bonded to the stainless steel by plasma transferred arc deposition of atomized powder of MCrAlX. The coating has a thick, dense, continuous and smooth transition region providing an effective metallurgically bond of the coating with the stainless steel. The coating retains a relatively high aluminum content which permits generation of an adherent alumina layer on the surface, providing good resistance to high temperature oxidation together with good anti-coking and hot erosion resistance properties.

  • Patent number: 5482731
Abstract: This document discloses a method for bonding a calcium phosphate coating to stainless steels or cobalt base alloys for bioactive fixation of artificial implants. The method consists essentially of the following successive steps: applying and thermally diffusing a layer of titanium or its alloys into the stainless steel or cobalt base alloy substrates, applying a calcium phosphate coating and thermally diffusing Ca.sup.2+ and PO.sub.4.sup.-3 ions of the calcium phosphate into the intermediate layer of the titanium or its alloys and finally, the hydrothermal processing of the calcium phosphate coating.

  • Patent number: 5405121
Abstract: The purpose of this invention is to present an apparatus consisting of a graphite rod, a vibration signal sensor, a signal processing unit, a data processing unit, and a data display unit to indicate the oxygen content of a copper melt. As such graphite rod is immersed into the molten metal it vibrates and the level of vibration is statistically correlated to the level of dissolved oxygen in the copper melt.
