  • Patent number: 12259771
Abstract: A system for configuring a handheld device based on a state of the handheld device includes an embedded controller (EC), a provided service, user selectable thermal tables (USTT), an Operating System (OS) scheduler, a power plan management (PPM) service and a thermal management service (TMS). The provided service communicates with the EC to determine if the handheld device is docked or coupled to a power supply, is stationary or moving, is coupled to an external display and whether a Peak Mode button is activated and communicates signals to one or more of the USTT, the OS scheduler, the PPM and the TMS to configure the handheld device in one of an Ultra Performance Mode, an Optimized Mode, a Quiet Mode or a Peak Mode.

  • Publication number: 20250047922
Abstract: Disclosed are methods for supplementing the processing capabilities of multimedia devices in a networked environment. A method can include providing a processing offloader module to physically connect to a first multimedia device in the networked environment. The offloader can be internal and/or external to the device. The method can include identifying the offloader, identifying a second multimedia device, and determining that a bandwidth of the second device falls below a threshold bandwidth. Instructions can be forwarded from the second device to the offloader when the bandwidth of the second device exceeds the threshold bandwidth. The offloader is configured to process the instructions and render multimedia information based on the instructions.

  • Patent number: 12192555
Abstract: Introduced here are systems to manage and discover a processing offloader. A first multimedia device may identify a processing offloader in a networked environment. A first multimedia device may determine that a bandwidth of a second multimedia device in the networked environment falls below a threshold bandwidth, indicating that the second multimedia device may process instructions and render multimedia information with increased latency or delay. Based on this determination, the first multimedia device may forward instructions from the second multimedia device to the processing offloader for the processing offloader to process and render multimedia information on behalf of the second multimedia device based on the received instructions. The first multimedia device may forward rendered multimedia information from the processing offloader to the second multimedia device, and the second multimedia device may output the rendered multimedia information to an output device.

  • Patent number: 11726524
Abstract: An information handling system includes a network interface card and a processor. The network interface card includes first and second virtual network interface cards. The processor communicates with the network interface card, and connects with an infrastructure access point via the first virtual network interface card. The processor forms multiple network connections via the infrastructure access point and the first virtual network interface card. The processor detects a wireless dock is within a predetermined proximity. In response to the wireless dock being within the predetermined proximity, the processor initiates a connection with the wireless dock via the second virtual network interface card. The processor resumes one or more of the network connections through the wireless dock via the second virtual network interface card. In response to the one or more of the network connections being resumed through the wireless dock, the processor drops the connection with the infrastructure access point.

  • Patent number: 11470120
Abstract: In some examples, a dock may determine that computing device is connected to the dock. The dock may authenticate the computing device, a user of the computing device, or both. The dock may select a policy based on the type (e.g., provided by a corporation or by the user) of the computing device, the type of user (e.g., employee, contractor, or visitor), or both. The dock may configure the dock to enforce the policy. For example, for one or more of the ports of the dock, the dock may enable a port, disable the port, monitor data sent and received using the port, restrict an upload and/or download speed of the port, prevent the port from accessing one or more locations (e.g., addresses or paths), or any combination thereof.
