  • Publication number: 20210315496
Abstract: Disclosed are devices, components and methods associated with a body fluid analysis system, which, according to some embodiments, can be employed in at-home, clinical, medical office and outpatient settings and applications. The system can be configured to provide results within a short period of time after a body fluid sample has been acquired from a patient such as by a finger or skin prick. In some embodiments, a body fluid sample cartridge is configured for use in conjunction with a corresponding spectroscopic body fluid analysis device, where the cartridge comprises one or more body fluid dispersing sheets, layers or membranes. In some embodiments, the cartridge is configured to deliver and disperse a predetermined amount or volume of a body fluid sample taken from a human or animal onto, into, through or across the body fluid dispersing sheet, layer or membrane disposed within the cartridge for subsequent analysis of the body fluid sample by a corresponding spectroscopic device.

  • Patent number: 9491684
Abstract: A method for multi-hop forwarding of data packets in vehicular ad-hoc networks is disclosed. Each node knows both its own and the destination's geographical coordinates. The coordinates of the one-hop neighbors are obtained from periodically broadcast Cooperative-Awareness Messages (CAMs). The method comprises the following distributed coordination scheme, executed by each node upon receiving a packet: i) computing the set of candidate forwarders; ii) ranking the candidate forwarders according to an utility metric; iii) forwarding the packet after a period of time proportional to its rank if top-ranked, dropping the packet otherwise. The base utility metric used for ranking forwarders is the inverse of the distance to the destination. Moreover, an extension is disclosed where this metric is replaced by the inverse of the expected number of packet transmissions to reach the destination. The latter metric is calculated based on spatial connectivity information cooperatively collected by nodes in the network.

  • Publication number: 20110270617
Abstract: The present subject matter enables an user to sign-up and use a loyalty, membership and identification digital card; to associate a digital card with an existing card; update a digital card and user profile information; to share cards with others; to record relevant action and geographic location data, comprising a server application, a front-end for end-users and/or card-issuers, and/or a mobile device application. The website enables operations on the cards and interacts with social network applications. The website platform also allows card-issuers to access behavioral and consumer data of their program members. The mobile device application stores card data and interacts with systems and devices at points of sale and identification points, such as bar code scanners or cameras. The network application, can be used in open, public, social interaction websites or in private, community websites, to share cards or exchange card and loyalty program information.

  • Patent number: 8009031
Abstract: A traffic signaling device system for motorcyclists comprising a safety brake and running light assembly (34) mounted to a motorcycle jacket (88). The safety brake light has an L.E.D. housing (22) supported by an outboard support member (20) and a leather piece (18). A plurality of snap buttons (16) can be used to secure safety brake light to jacket. The safety brake light has a six-conductor coil cable assembly (12) extending outside of jacket in front thereof is connected to a control box panel (44) so that the rider can view the operation of control box panel in a convenient seated position. At one end of control box is a six-conductor cable (50) which is electrically connected thereof to the existing wiring for a tail and brake light (78), a left turn signal light (80), and a right turn signal light (81) in such vehicles. Other embodiments are described and shown.

  • Publication number: 20100162602
Abstract: Modular frame for painting for displaying original paintings or photographic replicas from digital or plastic arts! Such paintings are usually marketed at museum stores, galleries and in stores related with art and decoration. The modular frame is composed of identical pieces, which form the frame once they are coupled. The pieces are fit in together in order to provide the shape of the frame and the paints or replicas are fixed by means of connecting means. The modular frame comprises mainly two types of pieces: tongue and groove connecting elements (1a, 1b) and extension elements (2). The objective is to provide a frame which is easy to assemble and which accepts a canvas made to fit therein in an equally simplified manner.
