Patent number: 11686633Abstract: A method includes identifying a plurality of measured strain gauge values of interest from a plurality of measured strain gauge values. The plurality of measured strain gauge values of interest corresponds to a plurality of temperature values of interest. The method further includes comparing the plurality of measured strain gauge values of interest to a plurality of expected strain gauge values of interest to determine a plurality of strain gauge correction values. The plurality of strain gauge correction values corresponds to the plurality of temperature values of interest. The method further includes correlating the plurality of strain gauge correction values to the plurality of temperature values of interest to determine a correction value-temperature relationship. The method also includes determining a corrected real-time strain gauge value by applying the correction value-temperature relationship to a real-time strain gauge value and a corresponding real-time temperature.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2021Date of Patent: June 27, 2023Assignee: LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATIONInventors: Manuel Torres, Garrett Michael Strickland

Patent number: 8684083Abstract: A perforating gun designed to orient a charge holding structure (e.g., tube, solid rod) within a barrel of the perforating gun to be at the same position relative to a wellbore casing regardless of a position of the barrel of the perforating gun. A charge assembly receivable within the barrel includes the charge holding structure and first and second end caps that are rotatably interconnected to the charge holding structure and non-rotatably interconnected to the barrel. As the charge holding structure is always or substantially always designed to maintain a common orientation in relation to the wellbore casing, explosive charges associated with the charge holding structure so as to fire towards particular location on the wellbore casing may always or substantially always perforate such particular locations upon or after the explosive charges have fired.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2013Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignee: CCS Leasing and Rental, LLCInventors: Manuel Torres, Darwin Holte

Publication number: 20050131372Abstract: An absorbent article, such as a feminine care product, includes a liquid permeable top cover, a generally liquid impermeable baffle, and an absorbent structure disposed between the top cover and outer cover. A wing structure is removably attachable to a garment facing side of the baffle and includes laterally extending flap portions having dimensions so as to wrap around the crotch portion of an undergarment. The garment facing side of baffle includes hook material defined in a pattern extending generally over the surface thereof, the hook material providing a primary attachment between the baffle and the undergarment. The wing structure has a body facing side of a hook compatible material and a garment facing side comprising hook material defined in a pattern extending generally over the surface thereof. The wing structure is variably positionable on and removably attachable over the entirety of the garment facing side of baffle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2003Publication date: June 16, 2005Inventors: Katherine Wheeler, Pat Exarhos, Christopher McKinney, Laura Walker, Manuel Torres

Patent number: 6045122Abstract: A safety vehicle lift having a base, a lifting assembly, a drive mechanism, a handle, and a ramp. The base is made of flat rigid construction which may be in one or two sections and may be of solid or grated construction. When in two sections, the sections may be permanently abutted with a hinge or may be temporarily abutted with conventional locking mechanisms. The base contains retractable wheels. The base is wider than the structures supported by the base. A drive mechanism is made up of a jackscrew passing through a threaded cross brace. When the jackscrew is turned manually or mechanically, there is a raising or lowering of the support platform. The lift is provided with a ramp having side walls and leading from the level of the base to the level of the support base. The ramp may be of solid or grated construction. The lift has less weight and equivalent strength compared to prior lifts, thus improving mobility. As the base is grated, the lift may be used on a wide variety of surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1998Date of Patent: April 4, 2000Inventor: Manuel Torres

Patent number: 5716040Abstract: A safety vehicle lift having a unitary base, a lifting assembly, a drive mechanism, a handle, and a ramp. The base is made of flat rigid construction. The lifting assembly has a lower portion secured to the rear part of the base, a support platform above the lower portion, and cross-linkage elements connecting the lower portion and the support platform in a scissors-like configuration. The support base has side walls, a front end with an upturned edge, and a rear end with an upturned wall. The cross-linkage elements have pivotable ends secured to the rearward parts of the lower portion and the support platform. Each cross-linkage element is made of two bars coupled together. The cross-linkage elements also have ends secured within horizontally disposed recesses within the lower portion and the support platform. A drive mechanism is made up of a jackscrew passing through a threaded cross brace. When the jackscrew is turned, the threaded cross brace moves horizontally.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1996Date of Patent: February 10, 1998Inventor: Manuel Torres
